We will have the DDP in August. We have already determined that it isn't cost effective for us to have it unless it is free, so seeing how it is free we are taking it.

My question is this:
DS10 eats like a bird. We will be going to both Citrico's and Flying Fish, which are signature restaurants. IF DS chooses to order from the kid's menu can I pay OOP for him instead of wasting 2 adult credits on an $8 kid's meal? Last time we had DDP we were allowed to do that, but things have changed. Keep in mind ALL of our credits will be Adult credits. We would simply use the leftover credits to cover other meals. We will have ADRs for 12 TS and only 9 credits.

If we can't do that it might be better to use all our credits at 1 credit places and pay the whole meal OOP with DDE at the signatures.

When is the free dining plan being offered this year? August again? How do you get it? We had it last August and could not believe how well we ate. Loved Coral Reef!!

Yes, they will let you use ddp credits for 2 people and pay oop for another person. This would be completely within the rules. They will, however, automatically add the 18% gratuity for the oop person.

We booked the "bounce back" deal when we were there in December.

Great! I just read the brochure and I didn't see anything that said you CAN'T do that, but you never know! We would tip 20% on DS's meal anyway, so no big deal if they add it on automatically.:)

Just keep in mind that if someone over the age of 9 is allowed to order from the menu fro guests under 9, this was lucky on your part. The CMs may or may not bend the rules to suit your will.
My 15y old DD still orders from the childs menu from time to time (particularly at Rainforrest CAfe). Never had a problem. The only time I was EVER questioned about ordering a kids meal was at a Miami Subs restaurant drive through. I was picking up food to eat at home with my DD who was 7 at the time:rotfl2:

I think they are usually pretty lenient about letting kids over age 9 order from the kids menu. We have done it at Kona, Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Sci Fi, 50's PT and The Plaza. But we have been paying OOP.

DS doesn't even weigh 64 lbs. I think the servers figure there is no way he could ever eat an adult size portion!:rotfl2:

Even as an adult, I sometimes get childs meals. I'm paying for it, why should they care?
