Is this smart or not at BCV...need advice.

We are going to BCV the end of November. I have requested a pool view. My reasoning...

1) We have two small children that love to swim (9 & 7).
2) I was thinking of requesting a 1st floor room for easy access to the pool.
3) We are in a 2BR...anyone know if these are available on the ground floor?

After reading some of these posts, I'm wondering if I should request a higher floor for the view (possibly EPCOT view). Has anyone stayed ground floor pool side? Any advice as to why this is a good or bad idea is greatly appreciated!

HI there! I think the pool view request is a good one. The quiet pool area is lovely, and I think you will enjoy it, especially at night. Everything is lit up so pretty. It's nice to have the quiet pool close as Stormalong Bay is a bit of a hike with little ones in tow. BCV is big, and you have to get through it's lobby area plus that of the Beach Club to access SAB.

I like the pool view request because it is safe -- no bad rooms as far as I can tell. The back side of the building does have some Epcot views but it also has some service-road views and someone posted here that a few of those rooms are very noisy in the early morning due to trash activities. You can't go wrong with a view of the pool!

The ground floor rooms have tiny patios which are separated from the pool area by small shrubberies. I believe these patios have two chairs and a tiny table. The patio doors have an extra lock at the top so tiny children can't just walk out the door and get into the pool without supervision.

This whole place is lovely and I am sure you will all enjoy it. Wishing you a great time!

I just got back Sun and had a woods view I guess. There is a walkway below but you basically face a swamp, that service road and EPCOT. I could however see Illuminations straight out, 5th floor, and to the right I could see Tower of Terror. I stayed at CBR in early Aug and was very very disapointed there. Stayed at OKW Labor day and wanted to move there so I was reluctant to go back to a "hotel" type building with people all around. I never heard the first shower running or toilet flush. It was very quiet. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted this view or pool and I reluctantly picked this one thinking about noise. With several trips past the quiet pool over the weekend on the way to the parking lot there was no noise being made to even speak of.

Thank you both for your information!!! I think I will go ahead with our request for ground floor pool view. Anyone else have further advice?

Just be aware that if you are on ground level and plan on exiting your room that way to the pool, that your room will then be left unlocked. If no one else remains behind in the room, then that could potentially be a problem. Just a word of caution.

Further to Carol's comment, you should also check on the planting if you intend to access the pool area direct.

I don't know the Beach Club at all, but at the Boardwalk Inn, which I know very well, the first floor rooms are separated from the rest of the gardens by a bed of dense planting with spikey stems - not the sort of thing you would want to force your way through. I assume this is some kind of a security barrier!
