Is this silly?!

I've been posting different scenarios for my family's upcoming 11 day trip. Everyone has been extremely helpful helping me tease things out and being a sounding board for me. To recap: We are traveling with friends that have a party of 5 and they always stay at POR. DH insisted he wanted to stay there. I've stayed there before and loved it...but the amount of walking made me nervous as I have recently recovered from being severely disabled/crippled from a horrible case of lyme disease and babesia. I offered up the FQ suggestion and he was "meh" wanting to stay at POR then maybe move to a family suite at all star music. We had a PIN code to complicate it even more looking to get the best deal.

Well, I haven't discussed yet with DH, but I think I found the winner for us! I was able to book with our PIN, FQ from 11/10-11/15 at 169/night. Then I put in our check in date of 11/5-11/10 and I was able to get a preferred room at POR!!!

So, basically we should both be extremely happy. I get the preferred room at Riverside and he gets to stay there with our friends which was very important to him. Then we will move to the FQ have way thru, get to use the pin, and still basically have a "preferred" room location due to the size of the resort. Sounds like a Win-Win to me.

But, it's not totally silly/stupid to switch is it? I know people split stay all of the time, but it's usually a more distinct switching of resorts, like say a value then deluxe or a monorail resort followed by an EPCOT area resort. I am waiting very impatiently for DH to get home to share my excitement. I've been playing every scenario around for days and this is it...I hope he agrees. Any thoughts before I go overboard with excitement?! Do people ever split between the sides of Port Orleans?

There are many reasons to book a split stay. If it makes you happy - go for it! It makes sense to me!

Enjoy!!

If definitely makes me SO happy!! I hope DH agrees :) If I was able to get a preferred at POR the entire stay, I may have likely done that. It is nice to be able to take advantage of our PIN code offer. And if Disney releases a RO discount for POR in a preferred room for our dates I will save even more. If not, I am very happy with what I got. I'm think the beignets might just win him over.

NOT silly at all! I would totally do this! We looooove split stays. The two are sister resorts but are both quite different in my opinion. I feel like it is important for both people to be happy and look forward to something on the trip to be the way they want it to be. This sounds like a great idea for you both to get what you truly want. You are going during our very favorite time to visit. Have a wonderful vacation!!

If it works for both of you and saves you money, it's definitely a win-win. Split-stays are done for a variety of reasons (I'm doing a triple-stay on an upcoming trip - some would consider that ridiculous, but it worked out perfectly for my plans). Go and enjoy the different aspects of both resorts!
