Is This Right?

I thought I had it figured out about year or so ago and all of a sudden feel confused
Anyway..is this right?
I have a March use year and have my 2008 points booked. I am thinking about going in December 2009 (haven't seen Christmas stuff at a Disney park in awhile and all these posts about it this year are making me want to)..
Soo..I would need all my 08 points, 09 points and to borrow from 10 points. Could I do that for a stay in December 09?
Also...if my arrival date was to be December 6, I would call January 6 for reservations?
Also, if I came a day early and stayed in a DTD hotel to save on weekend points, could I still take the Magic Express (is that what it's called?). How would I change to OKW the next day..would I need a cab or could I take the boat from DTD to OKW to check in or are the distances too long for schlepping?
When do the Osbourne lights start?? Candlelight Processional?? How early can you buy tickets to stuff and make ADRs?
(I haven't been to WDW1993..can you tell?)
Oh yea..how many days would you stay..just a couple who really doesn't need to ride everything..

If by "booked" you mean you have your 2008 points already "banked" into 2009 then yes you can use those points, 2009 points and borrow 2010 points for a Dec 09 trip. If you haven't banked those 08 points yet, you can't bank them because you are beyond the eighth month banking deadline (October 31 for a March use year). If arrival date is 12/6 you can call to reserve up to 7 nights on 1/6. As to how long you stay that is entirely up to you although I would consider 5 nights the minimum and prefer many more.

The Osbourne lights are up all of Dec. Likewise the candlelight. Dining ressies are up to 180 days in advance although that can change. Park tickets can be purchased any time; as to something like Mickey's Christmas Party i do not know how far in advance you can reserve. I also do not know about Magic Express although I thought it was exclusively for travel to on-site hotels. A cab from a DD hotel to OKW will be hugely faster than going to DD and then boating, which would also require a large amount of walking (a cab trip to OKW is about 5 minutes from any of the DD hotels; waiting for bus from hotel to DD and then going to boat and waiting for it, and also walk involved can easily be an hour or longer)

Yes you can

For the first 7 days yes, if more would need to call back 7 days later for the rest

As far as I am aware DME is not for DTD hotels, but you could book Pop/AS on cash and then DME is included and also the moving of you luggage to OKW could be done by Disney

ADR's 180 days out not sure about CP but Osborne Lights start late Nov this year

Thanks for the quick responses..yes..my points are BANKED not BOOKED Wow..6 months out? that's great. I bet the tickets for CP dinner are hard to get?
