Is this realistic?

Having a blast for the most part. When we got there we had to buy our MNSSHP tix and activate our military tix. Well my magic band had been working fine but suddenly it wasn't. So I ended up with a plain red band after painstaking painting mine with nail polish. ;) they have us four Mickey bars for our trouble and let us skip the huge line into the park. We had a blast running around and hit a lot of the big rides with 20 minute wait or less. Then I checked my email and poof! There was a one day ticket added to my new band. The only crappy thing was that the second parade got rained out and we got drenched. I didn't mind too much because it was a very warm rain but today our shoes are still soaked. Lol.

Today we are off to Hollywood Studios and hopefully we will make it to Fantasmic. Yesterday we went from 3am to midnight so the family might revolt! Lol

Waitingtogoback- good for you on keeping motivated! Getting a taste of the heat and humidity here makes me a little concerned honestly. But at the same time, the race got me off the couch and moving. Normally on a regular basis. That is huge. I really want to finish it but if I don't I've decided I am just going to take it as a life experience that changed my life regardless whether I am successful or not. I will enjoy it. :)
 
Staycool that's the right attitude for sure - it changed your life so you've already won! Crossing the finish line and getting the medal is icing in the cake :)

I'm glad you are in Disney and having a great time. It's also giving yourself a chance to get used to the heat and humidity. (I admit I'm worried about that too)

Waitingtogoback- good for you for at least getting out there and running. As long as those not feeling it days are few it's better to give in to them rather than push yourself too hard. If they start becoming the norm then you need to worry about them - until then one off day won't hurt you.

As for me I had an awful weekend food and workout wise but a great weekend soul wise. I went away with a friend and we had a great time, saw some old faces, took some trip down memory lane and even got a few scrapbooking pages done. Back on track today :)
 
StayCool- I have been wondering what the heat is like. I have been checking the forecast and stuff but it isn't the same as living it. I am concerned too. I ran today and it was pretty cool out. I had a good run, another 5.5 miles. I am now seeing that the weather is playing a huge role in my runs. So, I am not expecting to have a great run Saturday with 92% humidity. But, I will finish and I will get my medal and I will have a good time if it kills me. ;)

Dizzy- no, the bad days are very few lately. That's why I don't feel bad taking it easy when they happen. Would it have been nice to get up to 15 miles since it will be my last really long run before the marathon, sure. But, I think if it is cool for the marathon that will help more than one more long run. My calves and shins aren't hurting anymore, which was a concern. And, if 4.38 miles is a bad day I'm good with that since I couldn't run a mile just 7 months ago.

Don't worry about the bad weekend. Sometimes the mental stuff is more important than the other stuff. You won't lose the weight in one weekend and you won't gain it all back in one either.
 

One more thing. StayCool, I still think you will cross the finish line. But, if you don't as long as you keep going and don't quit this lifestyle then it won't matter. It will just be a piece of your success story when you finally reach your goal.

I am taking the same approach with the marathon. I almost went switched it to the 1/2 but I decided I will give it my best and if I don't finish at least I tried and I am not a couch potato anymore. I will eventually finish a marathon, even if it isn't this one. But I still think I'll finish this one.
 
I think I will finish too but I really appreciate the vote of confidence! I will say that these days in the parks are kicking my butt! I went to DTD today and stopped at Fit2Run. I bought a pair of Oofos sandals that are supposed to help your feet recover after running. I've been having issues with just the bottoms of my feet being sore. I put these on and they felt like heaven!!! They seem to be like Croc material.

I also bought a Fitletic belt. I know I shouldn't do anything new on race day but I truly think this will be fine. I didn't get any water bottles to put on it and it will just be to hold my phone and fuel.

I've been stalking the weather and it seems to be improving daily. Around 70 degrees and 70% or so humidity. I am hoping that it is accurate!!

Tomorrow is Epcot. A few rides and a lot of walking. We plan to check out the food and wine booths also. I'd love to drink my way around the world but I think I will pretty much behave because I don't want to get too dehydrated.

Drinking on Thursday should be fine as long as you drink enough water on Friday & Saturday.

Today we drank a lot in EPCOT to finish the booths off along with having a bottle of wine at dinner & I'm totally having a margarita right now as we watch Law & Order SVU.

Tomorrow we have a wine dinner that I'm sure by the end I will be toast as usually those are at least 6 to 7 glasses if not more.

Make sure you drink lots of water on Friday & Saturday!
 
StayCool- glad your having fun. There is no doubt long days of walking in that heat can take a lot out of you. Hopefully. Your taking it easier on Saturday.

I dont want to go to DTD but I want to go to Fit2Run. We'll see what happens.

I'm 6 hours from take off so I'll be in the heat soon too. :thumbsup2
 
You guys are going to have so much fun! The race starts at 7 my time so I'll be sending out positive vibes at the start time. Please please please post on Sunday and tell me how it went :)
 
I'm here. Flight landed early. Got right on ME, no wait. Not as hot as expected. Now I'm just waiting for a bus to the park. All is good.
 
I did end up drinking and eating partway around the world. I had the most amazing grapefruit beer in Germany! It was really hot (for us) yesterday and compared to the rest of our week, Epcot was a lot more crowded. We only lasted until 3 and then everyone wanted to go to the pool. That made me kinda sad because we only have one day for each park but I'm glad we left because we had a lot of fun at the pool. We checked out the poolside bar and I had an awesome mango margarita lol.

Today is Ohana for breakfast and then I will head over to the expo. Then pool time for the rest of the day. Assuming I don't get sucked in and spend all day wandering around. Lol. Waiting2goback, Fit2Run will be at the expo so you don't have to go to DTD.

Thanks Dis_Yoda for the advice. Next time I do Food & Wine I think it will have to be without the kids. They were kind of bored.

Dizzyr I will definitely post on Sunday, maybe even Saturday night after it's over. :)

I have been walking so fast trying to rush around and fit everything in that less than 24 hours since landing I think I am developing a blister on my left heel. So, time to slow down and enjoy the rest of my trip. It feels like its going by so fast I'm not enjoying it.

Eating lunch now. Then back to the hotel to change out of these sneakers and into my Crocs. Charge my phone and off to HS to do some shopping and see Fantasmic.

Tomorrow is Expo day. I'm planning to do 2 of the speaker sessions. The nutrition one and the one on the Core workout. It's a take it easy day for the race. Sunday the blisters can happen.
 
I ran around the first couple days also. Then I decided vacation is no fun if I don't slow down. So I did. I am at the expo now drinking a beer out of my new runDisney cup while the hubby n kids are swimming at the resort. I did the packet pick up and then got my jacket that I wanted. I got sucked into the Sparkle Skirts booth. I tried on a purple on and fell in love! So I may be wearing that tomorrow night. Lol. It has the running shorts underneath and felt much cooler that my running capris. Soon I will be back to the resort to swim for the rest of the day until my date night dinner with the hubby. :)

Part of the reason I waited on the Expo was cuz I was hoping they'd be out of stuff so I wouldn't be tempted to spend a lot.

Back to the resort. Shoes off and sure enough, a blister the size of a nickel. Now to figure out the best plan to get ready to run. 7 months of running, no blisters. Day before the race, huge blister. Wonderful.

Idk what to say about the blister. Maybe cover it with some moleskin? I covered mine with a bandaid when I had them. Good luck!

That sucks about the blister - I agree with staycool maybe try some moleskin. I sometimes will put two band aids if it's really bad. When I did the weekend to end breast cancer I got a blister that was ginormous! I went to see the medic before starting the second day and he wrapped my whole foot with tape - worked like a dream. My heel spur was inflamed as well that day and the tape really helped that too.

I just looked on the site and see they go to 3x! Of course I plan to be much smaller by then :) there's a really cute Dalmatians one - I could be Cruella DeVille!
