I booked my Disney vacation package earlier this year using a RO pin I received. It looks like they will be releasing FD during the dates of my stay, will Disney allow me to use the FD in place of the RO discount? I don't want to have to cancel the reservation, just adjust it to paying rack rate for room and using FD offer instead. Can this be done? It looks like the FD will save me $200.

Yes, you can do that.

I would just call and ask. We originally booked rack rate on the WDW website, then when the room only discounts came out we called and switched to a deluxe resort. Then I got a pin for free park hoppers and called and used that. We've had nothing but smooth sailing, so if I were you I'd call and see what they can do for you!
Good luck!

As long as what you want is available under FD, you can have your reservation modified to take advantage of that discount instead of the room discount.

Can someone tell me if this is the same thing:
my TA said I was grandfathered in under the old (cheaper) price park tickets. When FD comes out, I was going to take advantage of that. She said they always have to rebook it - same res # but to get the FD they need to put in the code and it would mean the tickets would go up in price with the FD. I don't have a Chase Visa so I'm awaiting the general release of FD.

Does that sound right? I accepted it as fact but this post makes me wonder.

She is correct, you will now pay the new ticket price. Technically the CM will be canceling the reservation you have now and making a new one with the new promotion, so you will loose the old ticket price.
