Ok, let me set the stage...I am working on one of my days where we are going to be at both Epcot and MGM. It is Dec 12, which is a Monday and it is also the morning EMH for Epcot. The family is me, DW, DD4 and DS15months.

We have decided not to do Fantasmic, since we will be doing a big MK day the next day, which is also MVMCP. I originally thought about doing morning EMH at Epcot, back to VWL for a rest/nap, then MGM for the afternoon. But we would love to eat at Mexico in Epcot if we could and we know there are more things for us to do at MGM for the kids. So, here is my next proposal, which I need advice on.

-Morning EMH at Epcot to ride Soarin' twice, since DS is too small and both DW and I want to ride it. We can take our DD each time (if she likes it).
-Then walk/bus/boat over to MGM for opening (or close to it) and enjoy Little Mermaid, Playhouse Disney, Beauty show and other attractions for the kids.
-Back to VWL for nice rest/nap.
-Back to Epcot to ride Figment, Spaceship Earth, boat ride in Mexico, etc...
-Sit down at San Angel Inn for a 6pm PS.

Am I out of my mind for this? Will Epcot be packed in the afternoon? I figured there weren't many attractions open for the kids at the morning EMH at Epcot and thought MGM would be empty in the morning too, but still wanted to get Soarin' in since we have never been on it.

We enjoyed a day similar to your plan back in May (with DD5 and DD1.5) and all was well. I think you're smart to do Soarin' first thing and then move on with your day. Gotta love the park hoppers!

(we'll be there 12/12 too...with MVMCP on the 13th!)

Those park hoppers ARE great! I'm glad to hear that you had a similar day and also that our kids are around the same, so it makes me think I might be able to pull this off.

I'm afraid if I waited to do Soarin' for the afternoon the line might be to long and the fastpasses all gone.

Thanks again for info. Sounds like we're on a similar schedule. We'll see ya at the MVMCP. It will be our first MVMCP, so just look for the excited, confused looking family of four. At least I will probably look like that. My DD will just be excited.

I also see we are from the same neck of the woods (kind of). My DW and I used to live in Stamford (worked in the city). Moved away and then back, and now we are in NJ. But we love the northeast and CT was always breathtaking. Probably gorgeous right now.

Anyway, thanks again.

Not only are the lines for Soarin' long, but we found the Fast Pass lines long too. So, even if you WERE to get the Fast Pass, you may still be looking at long wait times...just a very desirable ride right now, but you'll LOVE it. It's definitely worth the wait, either which way you end up doing it! I think your plan of attack will be fine, and the great thing is, you can change things up according to how well your kids are doing. My youngest will be 2 for this trip, but she was 19 months on our last trip and she was an angel...and loved every minute of it. (normally, she's a bit of a terror, unlike her more mild mannered older sister!)

I'm afraid I might not be able to distinguish you from the rest of our group of confused, yet excited MVMCPer's...it's our first Christmas Party too. We can't wait, though! I think it will be strange to be looking at Christmas decorations, while wearing shorts...usually we're in hats an mittens!

So neat to hear you're former CT folk! We have lots of family in NJ and PA, so we're quite used to the jaunt back and forth...but we're about 30 mins outside of Hartford in SE CT.

Hope you have a WONDERFUL trip!!

Lori
