Is this possible??? Car rental question

We wil be taking a day trip to Kennedy Space Center on a Sunday in June and will be staying at BWV. I have a reservation through National for pick up of the car Saturday at the Swan and Dolphin before close and drop of Monday morning. I think they open at 7:00 Am every day. Would it be possible to pick the car up first thing Sunday morning, drive to and from Kennedy and return the car after hours that evening, I understand you can leave the car with valet and get credit for the return of the car. Is any or all of this true? It would save me a day of worthless rental because we do not need a car otherwise. Please offer any insight or advice you might have. Thank you.

If you are fine leaving at 7:30AM to go to KSC then that sounds like a smart thing to do. KSC opens at 9AM but tours start at 10AM I believe. The ride is a tad over an hour? That leaves plenty of time to get car and get over there. Good Plan!!!!!

National/Alamo at the Dolphin doesn't open until 8 a.m., but it's true that you can drop-off the car after hours with the Dolphin valet.

*It looks like you can pick-up the car at the Car Care Center (near the MK) at 7 a.m.

I'd be thinking hard about dropping off the car after hours. I've heard stories of people who have done that then been charged for damages they insist didn't exist at drop off, but car rental company insists damage was done.

If I had to do that, I'd probably pull up to the valet and video record the entire process being sure to include all around the car and keep the tape running even as the valet is driving away. Then I'd keep the tape.
