I am trying to fit POR fishing into an already superpacked few days at WDW. This is what I had come up with. It is me35, DS12, and DM60. Will it be too much? I've already warned my mom that she can go back to Pop at any time if she needs a rest.

8:00am--leave for MK
8:30--arrive MK for opening
9:00-12:30--tour MK tomorrowland, part of fantasyland, adventureland
12:30-1:00--lunch(CS)
1:00-1:30---bus to POR
1:45-2:45--fishing at POR
3:00-3:30--bus back to MK
3:30-6:15--tour MK--frontierland, Haunted Mansion and repeat favorite rides if possible
6:15--monorail to Chef Mickey's
6:40-7:40--Chef Mickey's dinner buffet
7:40--Monorail to MK
8:00-close--repeat fave rides, parade and fireworks

It is a lot. I couldn't do it but wish you all the luck in the world!

Sounds good to me. Go to bed early the night before. Make sure you utilize your FassPasses.

Depending on the time of year and the age of any kids in the party you may want to find some "down time" out of the sun with no activities planned.

I go commando every trip, but I have to say this sounds pretty rushed.

Taking a bus to go fish, and having to be back at the bus in an hour ? That is a lot of rushing around for such a small time to fish? :confused3 One hour of fishing will be a 2.5 hour loss from the park. If it was me, I might skip the fishing.

Of course the flip side of that is if you are staying @POR, then some members of your party could nap while the others fish. Or if not, maybe you could schedule the fishing a little later in the day, then when you go fish your mom could go and rest and just meet you at Chef Mickey's later?

Not sure of the time of the year you are going, but remember to be careful of your mom if it is hot. Older people can succumb to heat exhaustion much more easily than someone your age.

Best wishes and good luck!!!

Well, my son is a big fisherman. We tried this last trip and got there right after they closed. :guilty: We are going August 31-September 4. This would be on September 1. First day, August 31, we are arriving at around 1am, and nothing until 11am. That is DisneyQuest, which my mom will not be doing and DTD, then swimming. So that is a fairly easy day and we will be in bed early. After MK, our next day is Epcot. We could do the fishing that day if it doesn't work out on MK day. I have told my mom that if she gets tired, we will walk her back to the bus and she can go rest at Pop and then call us as she's returning to the park. We will all be keeping hydrated and spending lots of time on A/C rides when possible.

That's really, really, REALLY busy . . . heck, I've waited at CS just to order for longer than a half hour, never mind eating, and that was not at a peak mealtime in the off-season! Is the fishing something that you really can't do back at home?

You're the only one who can decide what you'd enjoy doing the most. There's a lot of travel time spent on busses and monorail in addition to the morning and evening bus, and it can be difficult to realize how much time transportation, walking to and from the bus to the park, and getting into the park can take.

My philosophy is that the people who enjoy WDW the most are the ones who are prepared to be flexible, go with the flow, and not feel pressured to stay on a schedule. Quality, not quantity.

If fishing is more important than attractions, do the fishing. If Chef Mickeys is more important than attractions, eat there instead of some place in MK. (you might skip CS in MK and eat at the food court in POR --- it may not be crowded at all during the day). Just take the time to enjoy whatever you decide to do. Hope you have a great trip!

We can fish at home, but this is cane pole fishing, something I have never even tried at 35. We'll have to see how the day goes. If it goes as planned, and we are able to ride what we want, we will do the fishing. If it looks like we will miss a lot if we do it, we will reevaluate.

I do tend to plan what order to do the rides in and where to have lunch, etc. Its not set in stone, just more of a guideline of what makes sense according to all the books and people here on the DIS. I'm not one to stop someone from waiting in line for a character, or grabbing a Mickey bar though. Just wanna make sure we don't get the deer in the headlights syndrome and forget half of what we wanted to do.
