Is this ok?

I want to see exactly what the bp screens look like so I can be prepared when the day comes (just over a month!!)
If I make a park reservation for DHS and then try to get a boarding pass … but I don’t click all the way to the final screen, is that interfering with people who are there in real time trying to get a spot? I don’t want to do that, but I want to know if I’m going to see only my name checked off / or all the people who are in my list - who I can’t seem to remove … if I have to uncheck them, I’m afraid that’ll be precious seconds that will lock me out of a group.

Is it okay to do this? I would say no. You will be using up a park reservation you don't intend to use and DHS is filling to capacity most days so you're taking away a park reservation from a guest who is onsite. Also, there is a possibility you may accidentally get a BG if you don't stop at the correct time.

Please read post 1 of the Boarding Group: Rise of the Resistance *No Spoiler* thread. It shows you how to practice without having a park reservation. All screens look the same and function almost identically*, you just won't be able to actually get a BG and don't use a park reservation you don't intend to use.

*on a practice day your party will not be pre-selected. On the day you have a park reservation, all guests in your party with a park reservation will be pre-selected.

I’m not concerned about the reservation - i would make it at 6:30 am and cancel it at 7:01 … if the park is full then clearly I wouldn’t and couldn’t do it.
I just don’t want to take up a spot in the BG queue. I want to see if the people in my friends list show up. If they do, the. i will sit on hold with Disney to have them removed since it’s not letting me do that. I don’t want to waste time on hold if I won’t have to spend seconds unchecking them.
That’s all I want an answer to, thanks.

One other note on this is that there is no guarantee that once a BG position has been assigned for the day that it will go back into the pool. Some guests have been advised that once removed it stays out. Purposely using up a BG position to practice has potential for a valid guest not to ride. I understand you're only 1 person using 1 BG position but you can only imagine how this would negatively affect people in the parks (and you the day you're there) if people use up a BG position when they have no intention of being in the park.

When practicing I have made park reservations and actually obtained a BG. But I always made sure to cancel both the BG and park reservations so others could use them.

I didn’t actually get a bg. I went to the screen where it just showed me listed. Then I backed out and canceled my park reservation. As an aside, the park reservation availability calendar is showing green for the entire month - meaning no parks are at capacity … but I canceled it anyway just in case.
