we are planning to finish the basement.
I've called a few places to come out and give us an estimate. They are tell ing me they won't do a free estimate unless both myself and my husband are both here.
Is this normal? My husband isn't the type to ask questions, so basically he is going to stand there and not say anything during the estimating process. I'm the one the heads all the projects in the house...
The most aggrivating part is these businesses are open the whole week for estimates so its not like they are overwhelmed with work....
TIA

" I promptly thanked him for his "precious time" and told him we will no longer need his services, that he made a huge mistake in how he treated me for I was ready to plunk down over $10K for windows, and that was a nice sized commission that he just forfeited for being a sexist pig.
Just kidding of course, but seriously, my DH and I have much the same arrangement when it comes to major purchases. I don't make the final decision to actually buy alone, but I do the leg work and selection/narrowing down and fill him in on the details and we come to the decision to buy or not buy together.
