Is this line cutting?

Don't you think that you are being a little confrontational...there's no need for it. :confused3 Like you said - people may not know your DSs situation and you sure as heck wouldn't want to wear it on a shirt or hold a sign saying it. Please remember that they do have cards - I can't remember what they are called - that are available to families such as yours so that you may enter a special line so your son isn't waiting in line for too long and getting uneasy. You can get them at the guest services desk. Maybe this could avoid an awkward convo and make your trip a little easier next time. :goodvibes

I know...I know :rolleyes1
I sometimes just loose it...I HATE it when people make remarks. Yes I get a GAC card, however there have been times that the FP lines are not open so we just go through the regular line...usually less wait, but family goes and I stay back. ESP for shows and stuff too. It just I get SOOO tierd of people purposly saying stuff loud so you can hear them...yet they have no clue. I actually have wanted him to wear a shirt. I hear it actually helps. Its just hard sometimes...really hard :guilty: Thanks though for catching me while I was starting to get red faced ;)

Now that we think about it..lol...maybe a shirt that says "Solving the Puzzle at Disney" could be cute. On the back you could put a website that talks about autism awareness. Not only could this explain to some people but it could also maybe bring some awareness to those who don't know much about it.

PS - I totally still have my blue light in my front porch lamp :)

Sorry, I am Proud to be cavalier. ;). I could not care less. I am busy gabbing with my family. I don't think my attitude is going to contribute to out of control line skipping because most people don't do it. Little kids running back and forth and through are amusing since mine are so grown up. So they wouldn't come near my radar. I would probably notice a crowd, roll my eyes, laugh with my family and forget about it.

I'm with you, it just doesn't bother me.

Something else that many people on here seem to forget - Disney attracts people from every country and every nationality on earth, and not all cultures share the same "rules" (I put that in scare quotes because, as we all know, Disney doesn't actually have "rules" against it). For many people it isn't considered rude or anything else, mostly because they recognize that, in reality, it doesn't really inconvenience anyone other than having to move their bodies to one side long enough for the person to pass. It's a perception thing, those that try to physically block your way can't stand the thought of someone not actually going through the length of pain they have endured by standing in line, even though letting a few people by to catch up to their party may delay their getting on the ride by 30 seconds, max.

My kids must have super bladders bc we have never had to get out of line for a bathroom trip, or if we did we would all get out. If it is a long que we ask everyone to stop and go, and they usually do. Even my brother who has bladder issues and has had medical notes written for his dorm room being close to the bathroom has never had an isssue going before and then waiting in line.

We have been to numerous theme parks and the only place I did see security called was at Hershey Park was some teens cut the line (bc they were "meeting their parents". ) They were then escorted out of the ride.

If a parent asked me I would most likely help out but I still think it is wrong and it is line cutting.

I did make a loud comment once about a lady catching up and asked why didnt anybody ever go to the back of the line, she got mad, but everyone around me supported what I said.

Unlikely. Most of them probably thought you were being obnoxious and it probably raised everyone's stress level in hearing range.

But hey, it made you feel better to be loud and obnoxious, so go for it! :thumbsup2

"why is someone else's kid your problem?". Sad question. Maybe because someday you will need someone to have compassion on you. I figure we all are someone else's problem sometime. Pretty much the basis of community and humanity in general

I've said it before, Disney should just ban kids. Don't they know there are too many DISers that have all sorts of rules made up in their heads!

I won't speak for everyone in line, but I do agree that this statement would be my reaction.

To each their own, I guess. We all have different buttons that can get pressed when the public is involved.

Being someone that used to be a tad high strung, I would have (and have, years ago) reacted in much the same way. Even though I was right, I was the one that came off looking like a loud, obnoxious jerk. My saintly wife patiently taught me not to let those things bother me.

I don't think it's line cutting at all. People get split up from their family often and they have the right to catch up to them. Have you ever been going to get in line and a big crowd enters as well, half of you are ahead of people, half are behind, you should be allowed to pass in order to get to them. Whats the difference if one or two people pass you? What, you have to wait like a second longer. I say it is ok. :thumbsup2 At least I wouldn't care...

In all my trips to Disney I have never had that happen. If it does though the simple solution would be for the half ahead to go back to the other half behind. Why should the ones behind be "allowed to pass to get to them" when it could very easily be the reverse? If riding together with your family is important to you (as it certainly is to me and most people) then you should not mind going back to join them and letting the people dividing your family ahead of you. To use your thinking "What's the difference if one or two people pass you? There are always two sides to the coin.:)

I had this happen at BTMRR.

So it's not the inconvenience of having several people squeeze past you, then, it's just the idea that 2 or 3 people may not have to stand in line quite as long as you. As someone pointed out earlier, in many cases it would be even more inconvenient for everyone in line if the larger group tried backtracking through the entire line. This goes back to what I said earlier, it's never been about inconvenience, it's about people not thinking it's "fair".

I think you are at least partly right on that one.

I it also makes me laugh a bit when people claim that it isn't a big deal if they cut by you, that it only makes your wait a smidge longer. If it isn't such a big deal to wait, then why not wait until you are all together to enter the line? Hmmm? Comes off sounding as if it someone else has to wait it isn't a big deal, but not you!

Yes, it is line-cutting.

I had a Brownie leader coax about 6 of her Brownies to cut in line to join her on Jungle Cruise. It was a loooong, hooooot line. They went almost straight to the front. Not much of a Brownie leader. Their time is not more valuable than mine. And, neither is anyone else's.

I agee. From my view point, it is usually the hothead that looks bad. I end up feeling sorry for the rest in their group because that person seems to be focusing on all negative aspects of the trip. I've traveled with one before, and despite the perks we got from the person's constant complaining, it wasn't worth it. It was quite embarrassing.

Absolutely!:thumbsup2 It is all about fairness as everyone's time on vacation is precious and nobody wants to stand in line for a ride but sometimes it is a necessary evil. What gives me the right to bypass your family to get to mine?
How do you know that when someone says they want to catch up to their family that there really is a family waiting (not that this would make it any fairer) and this is not their idea of a new type of fastpass like a previous poster stated? In my pp I was refering to a poster who said that a family enters together but somehow a few people end up between them. In this case it would be just as easy for the ones in front to move back to their family. :)

:confused3 I do wait for my family. They are all well past the running to the rr, lol. I just really don't care if a family needs to catch up. Assumptions that those of us who are laid back about people catching up are doing so us really one of those assume ing type of broadbrush ideas. Worth a chuckle!
