Actually, it is. As long as you use the cover when there is a fire going.

It is my understanding that as long as it is a covered pit, it is okay.

But, check at the comfort station to make sure there isn't a ban on all fires when you're there.

When we were there the end of September there was a ban on fires, regardless of the type of pit you had. Unless they have gotten a ton more rain since then, the ban is most likely still in effect.

For grilling things yes, for campfires no.

currently there is a fire warning in okeechobee county, so i am almost positive that ban would also cover central counties as well....9 times out of 10, when our central county has one, both osceola and orange have one too

we have been really dry as of late

however, if you have the room, bring it...you can always roll the dice and see if things improve

I'm five miles from WDW, and haven't had rain in two weeks. The forecast I saw this morning showed no rain in the next week. We've been having low humidity and red flag fire warnings. Other than that, the weather has been great !
