I was going to bring $500 with me for my upcoming trip and am hoping this will be more than enough. I will be purchasing very few souvies (going to take a ton of digital pics, so those will be my main souvies) and won't be doing that many sit-down meals. I go once a year, so I have most of the souvies that I needThis would be about $71 a day for food, treats & souvies. We'll be stopping at a Target or Walmart on the way to the hotel to buy breakfast items, as well as bread, pb&j, snacks & water and I'll get the free refill mug at my resort, so that saves quite a bit of $$. This is more of a budget trip for all of us and I think I can do this on $71 a day. What do you think?

Well, you've been far more times than I have so you'd know better then I do, but I'm sure I could definitely do Disney on $71 a day as long as lodging/tickets/transportation are already taken care of. I would think as long as you don't do many sit down meals then you should have plenty. However, I would probably take a credit card along just in case of an emergency.

How many people? If you have children, how old are they?

T&B

Lodging: I'm staying with my sister in her room. She purchased the 7 for 5 deal and she will be the only adult in her room. My portion of this was already paid for.

Tickets: I have my AP, so that takes care of admission.

Transportation: We got a great deal on our flights and paid for them months ago. My other sister is renting a van and my portion of this is to pay for the parking at our outgoing airport (already put $$ aside to cover that).

There will be a total of 7 of us going. 4 adults and 3 kids under 10. When I went with family a few years ago, we would have breakfast in the room, then a meal either at the resort or in a park (lunch or dinner), then the other meal was a sandwich in the room. I'll, of course, put in my share for the groceries, so this would actually bring my total down to $400 for the week. Also, we won't arrive at the hotel until around noon the first day and, since our flight home is at 11am out of Tampa, we'll be leaving early on the last day. The only credit card I have right now is one that automatically withdraws from my checking account. It makes you really think about whether or not I really need to purchase something.

I think that, from what you've described, $71 a day for one adult will be plenty. You'll probably spend even less most days so that you'll have a little padding if you go over on one day. Basically, you'll just be buying one meal a day (plus maybe a snack and a drink in the parks) most days, and $71 will definitely get you that!

I usually plan on $100 per day and that's for 2 adults and a child. We do one sit-down meal a day and don't buy any 'stuff' since we've gone so often. We do breakfast, for the most part, in our room. And have sandwich makings.

So, is $71 per day the portion for one adult?
Yes. My sister and her husband will take care of themselves and their boys and my other sister and I will pay for ourselves.

For the sit-downs, it will more like the Crystal Palace or 50's where the kids can be entertained, other than that, it will probably be counter service stuff.

Thanks everyone for your info.

I think it's going to be plenty. We've been several times, so most of the "souvies" I get will be pretty inexpensive (popcorn containers, refill mug, maps, pencils, as well as one t-shirt). I like collecting the little things like the maps and such. It's cool to look back. Plus I have 5 memory sticks that will hold 588 pictures. I might run over to Walgreen's mid-trip and burn those onto a cd, so I can fill the sticks up again. :p

Thanks again everyone!! I still can't believe we'll be there in 5 days!!!
