Is this doable?

If our flight arrives at 6:10 pm, is it possible to make it to a 8:30 pm ADR at Chef Mickey's? Or is it pushing it too close?

If you step off the plane at 6:10 a.m., don't collect any baggage, and get right in a vehicle, you could make it to WDW probably by 7:00 a.m. That's with no traffic. Will you be checking baggage and need to pick that up (add 30 minutes). Will you be renting a car or taking Magical Express--add 20-30 minutes for that. Worst case scenario--add another hour putting you there at 8:00 a.m. Yeah, I think it can be done barring no flight delays and traffic.

I am thinking it would be pushing it, and do you really want to be stressed the second you get off the plane worrying about rushing there? That is PM, not AM...so I would think you'll be getting some rush hour traffic after you get off the plane too. Personally, *I wouldn't do it...but I get stressed easily on travel days and like to keep things low key.

Ooopss, I misread your post. I thought it was 6:10 a.m. versus p.m.

I think there might be too much traffic. You can always keep the ADR and see what happens.

I don't think that is going to work. With traffic and all the other things at the airport, heck just stopping to let a child use the rest room would set you off schedule. I don't think I would stress myself out with that ADR hanging over my head. I'd try for later or skip it altogether and enjoy CS and a swim!

You're probably pushing it. Allow an hour to get to WDW (I know, it's a 25 minute drive, but you need to get to ME or car rental)....and it will be rush hour. You need to check in at your resort, then get to Chef Mickey's. 10 minutes for check in, 30+ to the Contemporary.

Just a thought though...I normally suggest that people cancel ADRs if they think they can't use them, but.....this is probably near to the last ressie they have. Why not keep the ADR. If you get to your resort and are ready to leave for dinner and it is not past 8 pm, get over there quickly. If you are after 8 pm at your resort, just do a CS somewhere. However, call (or have the concierge desk) call them for you. We got "crunched" on an arrival time and weren't going to make our ADR. They said to come over as soon as we could and they'd hold it for us.

If you don't show up, they will give your table to someone else. However, if you call from your resort, the restaurant can tell you whether they can allow you to arrive late or not--so if they can't take you, you get CS. Just don't pump up the kids about dinner with Mickey on the first night.

I think it's pushing it only because coming from the airport is too unpredictable. You never know what's going to happen. I'd save it for another morning when you know for certain that you'll be making it. :thumbsup2

If you rent a car and drive straight to the Contemporary you might have a chance, if everything else goes swimmingly (arrival, baggage, car rental).
