Is this an OK deal??

I booked 2 room/packages at POP Century. 4 adults, two 17 yr olds.

For all 6 of us, 4 nights at POP, 5 day basic passes and a meal plan (1 sit down, 1 counter, 2 snacks daily), it was $3230, taxes included.

Did I get a decent deal?

I did put it all on my new Disney Visa, so I will get a $32 gift card, plus the $200 one I got for opening the Visa.

a little more info is needed to tell for sure - like when are you going, seasons and weekday/weekend can make a significant difference. Dining plan also fluctuates some with the seasons, I thinnk it is only 4-5 per night per adult. But with 6 adults, that could make more than 100 difference on a 4 night trip.

But we will go with the lowest prices (i'm not looking anything up, so my numbers are just close)

$740 - Pop rooms (no more than 2 adults in either room)
$1440 - 6 Adult tickets
$1008 - 6 dining plan adults
Total - 3188

Thats all rack rate, weekday only, value season. Probably your room rate higher. Are you using one of the specials? Even if you are, the current general public deal is only 15% off. This will only save about $20/night/room, so about $160. So you won't see that much of a difference.

It is in May. My rooms were suppose to be the $88.60/night.
Did you include taxes in your calculations?

I have recalculated:

Room: $708 ($88.60/nt, including tax)
Dining: $1008
5 day tickets, including tax: $1456

Total: $3172

I think they overcharged me by $42. I will call first thing in AM.

$88 is roughly 15% off rack rate of $105 (the weekday price). I believe the promotion that expired a few days ago was more off than that but I don't know the exact precent. 15% is certainly better than nothing!

My room is $78.75 plus tax. So that seems to be the 20% off.

I talked to them today - boy, I got several rude agents. I was quite surprised. No one could tell me why the prices wouldn't add up. Finally, the last woman I spoke with explained that the weekend rates are higher, which made up the difference.
So I am still getting the room at 20% off, and the dining plan for $42/person. So I guess it is all OK.

BTW, I think you received an incorrect quote or misunderstood the meal plan. With the 1 sit down and 1 counter meals you listed - it sounds like you have the regular dining plan. But that only has 1 snack credit daily, not 2.

I have all my notes from the agent & I was quoted 2 snacks. I called, and now they said it was one.
I have never dealt with customer service like I have with this trip. Disney has always been A+, and this time, I am disappointed. I have had several negative interactions with them.

What do you do if someone quoted you the wrong thing?!

do you have three adults in one room and one adult/two 17yos in the other? if so, that's your difference in price 'cause the 3rd adult is charged an add'l fee...

That is why I use a TA because when I have problem I have one person to deal with and not someone new each time I call.

There is nothing you can do when they tell you the wrong information. The first time I booked free dinning a few years ago, they said the tip and appetizer were included. I said "I don't think so" she was adamant that it was. I knew from being on the boards that it was not. Know your information before you book. You can call 10 different times and get 10 different answers. Someone may tell you what you want to hear, and they could still be wrong.
