Is this acceptable or considered cutting in line?

If me and the kids jump in line for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and send DH to get Fastpasses for Peter Pan - on his way back, would he be able to get back in line with us? Or is this frowned upon or considered 'cutting'?

Use your better judgement :goodvibes

it's usually a mixed bag around here a lot think its totally unacceptable others don't really care. I think that its pretty tacky, but that's just me.

Hmmm, I figured it would be a toss up. Since I've never been, I just didn't know if this was something that was 'common practice' in the parks or something frowned upon. I'm not really sure how I would look at it since I've never been there. I just figured if this was something that was common and everyone did it, then I might as well consider it. If not, then no biggie!

Thanks for your opinions though!

Regardless of our opinions, chances are it would be frowned upon by at least some of the people behind you in line.

I figured that would be the case - thats why I thought best to ask here rather than attempt something that is frowned upon while at the park. I would be a mess at WDW without this board - seriously! ;)

It's clearly line-cutting and is probably against whatever rules Disney has in place for these kinds of things. Moreover, it takes advantage of people's sentimentality and sympathy for a daddy who's just trying to do something nice for his family.

But imagine for a moment that it isn't a daddy getting his family FASTPASSes; instead it's a loud, obnoxious stock broker who steps out of the queue to get better cell phone reception. This man wouldn't engender much sympathy if he tried to rejoin his party ahead in line. But, clearly, the stock broker's action has the exact same effect as the nice daddy's on the people he wants walk past on his way to a better position in the queue.

What would the sentiment be if the obnoxious stock broker and the nice daddy were one in the same? :rotfl2:

Honestly, it would not bother me at all. I have always let a family member catch up to the rest of the family ahead. Oh, you say, what if everbody did it - that would mean lots of people hopping in front of you...but everyone's not doing it all at once. I hope DH never has a sudden bathroom attack while we're in line - he might be ambushed when he tries to get back to us! :lmao:

It wouldn't bother me in the least. 1 or 2 people is no biggie. But if it's 3 or more I might be a little miffed.

We had people give us a nasty look when I took my toddler to the bathroom. The cast member was perfectly fine with it though.

If it were only the father catching up to the rest of the family, I wouldn't have a problem with it. However, if the father were in line & the rest of the family came to catch up with him, then I'd be cranky. I guess it's a numbers game to me.

whether it is called cutting or not, it is allowed as I have seen it many a time with CM's watching w/o a peep.

And taking a little one to the restroom is one of the best reasons to send one's family ahead to a line IMO, but I know that not everyone thinks the same way.

Exactly!

I also wouldn't be upset if one or 2 people joined the line but if a whole tour group showed up, I'd be a little annoyed.
