Is this a good or a bad idea?

My sister and I are going to have 9 days at WDW and - dare I say it? - the Dark side. We plan to spend 2 days each at MK, Epcot, AK, USO and the last day at eith DHS or a resort hopping day. We will be there Nov 27 - Dec 5. I had planned the first day at AK and the second day at MK. I just assumed (cray, I know) that Rivers of Light would be showing every evening, since its new, but it's not showing the first day. So, I might switch u the days. What would you do?

1. AK on 27th that is a 3 crowd level but no ROL and MK on 28th, crowd level 3 but closes at 6m.

2. MK on 27th, a full day but crowd level a 6 and AK on 27th, again crowd level of 3 but ROL.

I haven't been to WDW since 2013 and this will most likely be our last trip. Our other days are hard to change. FP+ is all new to us and I am having some trouble with our touring plans. TIA!

Option 2

Why would you want to go to MK on a day where you would have to leave by 6 and not see the new Happily Ever After show?

Happily Ever After is light years better than Rivers of light

Also don't go by the crowd calendar projected crowd numbers. AK will be more crowded than you think with Pandora now open. You won't think it's a 3

Since you're doing two days at MK, I would make one of them on a full day and one of them on a 6 pm close. If you can find a full day that doesn't have party days around it (2 full days in a row), one of those would be better than one between two parties, but I don't think that exists. The non-party days are CROWDED, but the party days are GREAT.

As to ROL, they may add more nights in there, so keep an eye on the park hours.

Maybe consider upgrading to hoppers that way it isn't an issue and you can bounce around to what ever parks shows etc you want to see. Other option is you are still far from your FP time I would try to look at park times and plot your days that way.

I would personally opt for the hopper for the added freedom and less worry.

I wouldn't lock plans just yet as entertainment and hours will likely change. For September, originally they posted ROL only 4 nights/week. Then, on July 18th, they changed the September calendar and posted ROL every night. It's possible they will extend ROL to every night during your stay.

Thanks for all your replies! I kind of shot myself in the foot by choosing to get the discounted Canadian 7 day passes non hopper. To add the hopper, I would now need to pay the difference of price between discounted and non THEN add the hopper price. For MK right now, I have one 6pm close on a party day ( because of the low crowds then) and then a 9pm close with a 4:15pm BOG ADR. We will watch the HEA on thats night. Right now, I will keep our plans flexible and hope they add some more ROL nights.
