Is this a fair quote for transportation?

Hi,

I have been pricing transportation for our July cruise. We need transportation from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral, then Port Canaveral to the Boardwalk Inn, then Boardwalk to the airport. We have priced a few companies and have recieved quotes from 350-425 without tip. Some companies will not honor the round trip discount since my trip s technically not a round trip...its a three leg trip? They are quotes from Limo service since it is our honeymoon. I have never used transportation service other then Mears and am hoping you can tell me if these are fair. Or if you have other suggestions? or companies to try? I have called FL Tours, Southern Elegance, and Orlando Limos. Also, is there a big difference between towncar service and limo service, besides the car itself. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thaks in advance,
Heather

PS Does anyone know if instead of doing a grocery stop, would the transportation company stop at a UPS Store of Staples...etc? We need to send home our souviners from the cruise before we head to Aruba due to customs.

That sounds a bit much - What companies are you quoting? Have you tried Tiffany Towncar? or Happy Limo? At that rate, you would be better off renting a car!

I priced limos from several companies and I think that is about what they cost- we can't afford it. Wea re going with a van. You know the towncars are very attractive and if it's just the 2 of you it would be a very comfy ride. That would save you a bunch.

That sounds about right to me, for a limo, on a 3-leg trip. We'll be paying $462 INCLUDING 20% tip when we do this exact thing this summer (airport to Port Canaveral, then Port Canaveral to the Polynesian, then the Polynesian back to the airport). We're booked with Tiffany Towncar. We've used them twice before and had excellent service.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for the responses. I will try Happy Limo and Tiffany. Do you know if they offer discounts? And since mt FH is 6'5'' do you think he'd be comfortable in the back of a towncar? Do the backseats have a lot of leg room? And do they still make a stop in a towncar, to a store, or is that only in a limo?

Heather

have you checked the one-way car rentals? I would think you could RENT a towncar for far less than that as you'll only pay a 1 day rateon the way over and then a daily rate for the rest of the trip (not sure how long you're staying at the Boardwalk)

Then you can make as many stops as YOU want!

$320-425 for limo on 3-leg trip sounds about right to me. I think I had ours figured $450 WITH tip for airport to resort, resort to PC, and PC to airport....through FLTours which is who we'll use again.

I don't think you can get it cheaper than that using a limo....

I would try the 1 way rentals. From MCO - Port ( Budget rental, full size car, 26.00, Port- MCO (budget rental, full size car 44.00) Your extra leg should not add that much on to make your 3 one way rentals as much as your previous quotes. ... Mark

We have the same trek as you next week (airport to port-port to pop century-pop to airport), we did Tiffany for $245 + tip (15 passenger van-we are family of 6). However, we decided to rent a minivan for the first leg, because we get in early Friday morning (12:15am). The towncar will not stop at stores that late , so we booked a minivan with avis from 12:15 am Friday to 5:45 pm friday. The minivan cost around $90 which is around the same price as that that leg with the van. If you use tiffany they have a $5 roundtrip coupon or the Passporter Book has a $15 (I think) coupon. I believe the Port to Disney is around $100. Good luck.

Thanks everyone......

We are only staying at the Boardwalk for 1 night.....I guess renting a car isnt a bad idea....it will give us alot of freedom. Does anyone know which car rental companies are close to the port and do they offer a shuttle to the port and a shuttle from the port to the rental shop? Also, if our flight arrives at 1145 am do you thik we have enough time to get to the ship] if we rent a car?

Thanks in advance,

Heather

Wow, 11:45 arrival at MCO seems a bit close for me. You're not leaving much time for any problems. We usually vacation in January, so we leave an extra day as a buffer. Bad weather can delay alot of flights and poor road conditions and accidents can also add time to your already tight schedule. I'm not completely sure, but if you use Disney transportation to get to the port and you are delayed, they will hold the ship for you.

We used Budget. They offer a free shuttle to the Port and back to their office when you return.

We're using Fl Tours - We used them last year and they were fantastic - like them better than Tiffany.

We have a limo going from MCO to BWV to PC to MCO. The price quoted to us is $350 plus 20% gratuity for a total of $425.

With 5 of us the limo works out great.

I also checked into rental cars but found for a vehicle to accomodate all of us was more expensive than the limo. BTW, we don't plan on doing any driving while we are at WDW, we always use the bus transportation for the parks.
