Is this a do-able schedule?

We are driving from Houston to Orlando Memorial Day weekend. This was going to be a Universal only vacation, but tonight I started packing and getting things together and I found our Disney park hopper passes from our last trip (which I had been accusing my husband of accidentally throwing out for the last two years - but that's another story.) Anyway, we have one day left on these tickets, so we are thinking of having a Disney day on Wednesday, June 2. We are thinking of going to each park and doing just our favorite attractions and then moving to the next park. Tell me if you think the following schedule will work, or if lines, crowds and travel between parks will be too much. We plan on going from park opening to park closing, commando style, and getting as much as we can from our one Disney day. Any suggestions for making it work, like which rides to get FP for, etc, will be greatly appreciated.

This is what we are tentatively planning:

MGM - Be at the rope at park opening and do ToT and RnR.

We would leave the car parked at the MGM lot and catch a bus to AK...

AK - Dinosaur, Safari, Bugs Life. We would probably eat lunch at a counter service restaurant in AK. Suggestions?

Next we would head to Epcot...

Epcot - Mission Space (we haven't done this one yet and want to try it)

On to MK...

MK - Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion.

Back to MGM...

If there is time we would try to ride ToT again. Or just jump in the car and head back to the Hard Rock.

Once again, any suggestions about FP, transportation to the parks, where we might eat that would be quick, all advice will be appreciated. MGM's hours are 9am-9pm that day. Does anyone have any idea what crowds might be like that day?

Thanks for the help!!

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Dinosaur will be closed for rehab until the 4th, reopens the 5th. Otherwise, I think you can do it, and it will be fun to try!

Thanks for the info HaleyB!

I see you're in Austin...we'll be there this weekend for a wedding reception. Hope the weather is good...we've had so much rain down here recently.

Bumping...

Anyone else have any advice for making this work?

What kind of crowds should I expect for the first Wed in June?

Now I'm having second thoughts...at Universal we will have FOTL...I'm afraid we'll regret giving up a day of that for a day of standing in lines. Can someone reassure me?

Thanks!

I don't know whether you'll be able to accomplish everything, but it could be fun trying. Just make sure everyone understands that you might not get everything accomplished due to crowds, etc.

For MGM, I'd FP one attraction and ride the second one. By the time you're done the FP return window should be open.

At AK (assuming Dinosaur is closed) you'll have to check the times for ITTBAB and the FP return time for Safari. You probably won't need an FP for ITTBAB if you get in line soon enough. You will probably be better off getting an FP for Safari and waiting in line for the next showing of ITTBAB, but you'll have to play this by ear.

At Epcot, I'd suggest the singles line for M:S.

At MK you may start running into problems. It will probably be late afternoon or early evening and FPs could be gone and lines could be long. Just keep calm and wait in the lines. There's probably nothing else you can do, but at least you'll have fun.

Good luck and let us know how it went.

I would start in AK. You will waste more time commuting to/from AK to the other parks than you will using WDW transportation between the other 2 parks. By starting here, you will only have to cover the AK--> MGM route and not the round-trip.

Drive to AK. Do the Safari first and then Bug's Life.

Drive to MGM. Do ToT and RnR. FastPass one of them.

Take boat to EPCOT. Grab a FastPass for MS and do a late lunch at the Electric Umbrella while you wait. Do MS.

Take monorail to MK. Do Grab a FastPass for Space Mountain and do HM. Do Space Mountain.

Take the bus back to MGM, which is where you would have left your car.

GayDays Week begins June 1 but you should not see heavy crowds until that Thursday or Friday. A lot of southern schools will aready be done for the summer and many families will have started their vacations. You will be coming off of Memorial Day weekend. It all adds up to large crowds but if you stick to just the few attractions that you have listed, you should be able to do it all before the MK closes.

Have fun and let us know howit worked out!

I think U could do it! Either your original plan or Mad4theMouse's have potential. I think you may be pushing it to get both Space Mountain & Haunted Mansion in at MK that late in the day though.

If you do MGM first, you will probably not need FPs for TOT or R&R, but if you do it later - FP one & ride the other

If you do lunch at AK - Try the Tusker House - It's in Harambe right by the Safari - So, grab a FP for the Safari & then enjoy lunch or check out ITTBAB while you wait.

Definitely do the Singles line at MS if you feel like you may be running behind - or if there is a significant discrepancy in times b/t Standby & Single Rider Lines. MS Fastpasses still tend to go quickly - and then have a long time before returning!

I would stay away from the Boat ride if you can help it - I think it's a little slower than the buses!

I think this is the best way to do it!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Mad4theMouse - we will probably go with your plan. That actually puts the parks in our order of preference. The attractions at MK would be the ones that we would mind least missing, so if we don't make through to the end, that will be ok. But we will give it our best shot. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. We'll be trying it two weeks from tomorrow!!! Yeahhh!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

JUST and FYI: If I rememebr correct you cant catch a bus from one park to the other. They go to the TTC and then you can transfer.

Not exactly true. Buses from AK or MGM to MK will stop at TTC and you'll have to take the ferry or monorail over to MK. Also, from Epcot, you take the Epcot monorail to TTC and transfer to the express monorail to MK. Reverse this procedure to go from MK to another park.

To go from any park except MK (or to any park except MK) there is direct transportation to each park. From Epcot to MGM you go out the International Gateway and either walk to MGM or take a boat. Walking is a little quicker but the boat is more relaxing. I believe there is a bus that leaves from the front of Epcot to MGM. From MGM to Epcot you take either the boat (to IG) or bus.

All other parks have direct bus service.

About the crowds on June 2nd, we were there last year and will be there again at the same time this year.

The primary reason we are returning on this same week is because the crowds were very manageable. Mon-Wed were particularly light, with most stand-by waits only 10-30 minutes. Fastpasses could be obtained for returns 60-120 minutes later.

I've heard that crowds have been running heavier in 2004 (compared to 2003), but early June is a good time to visit DisneyWorld.

Enjoy your stay!
