Is this a deal?- car rental

Okay - I have been trying since May with coupons, codes from mousesavers, car rental site, entertainment book, magic card, wholesale clubs - You name it, I've looked into it. The best rate I've gotten is $176 (includes all taxes and fees) for a mid size for a week in late Oct. Is it possible to get a mid size or full size under $150. Will rates get better as the dates get closer?

That sounds pretty good for a mid-size. i'm paying $218 for 8 days in Nov.

rate and with who? I have a mid size for 9.5 days for $255 with National, but your sounds a bit better.

I got a base rate $134.99/week with an upgrade coupon with Alamo. I guess one just has to keep looking.

I tried National but never seem to get rates as low as alamo.

I tried the special on their website, and the Entertainment coupon, and it would not let me use it.

If you want to double check, bid below the lowest rate that you can find via Priceline. Just keep in mind that they had a $5.95 fee so you'll want to figure that into your bid. Also, be sure to specify an MCO car rental agency. All the ones they use except Hertz are on-site...we've gotten both Alamo and Avis via Priceline. If they don't accept your bid, then you can go with the lowest non-Priceline rate. If they do, you've saved some $$.

Cannot use an Entertainment coupon with an online special.

Sometimes National is lower, mine for National is.
