That happened to me once! Well, it wasn't a parakeet it was a sparrow but he got stuck like that too!

Eww! Coming home a few months ago from my second job, I hit a poor little kitty who was running at full speed. Luckily, I didn't kill him...he ran away just as fast as he hit the car. I felt terrible for weeks! I feel bad if I run over frogs or lizards!!

First of all, I'd be mighty freaked if I hit something like that, especially if it stuck to the car!

I don't think the hog picture is legit. For one thing, they didn't show the hog to anyone - they just buried it right away. I mean if you had something like that wouldn't you show it to someone? Call and find out if it qualifies for the Guinness book? Also, the photo just doesn't look right. The shadows (to me) look a little off, and if you look at the shadow of the guy its fairly well defined and is slanting off to the right. Since he's standing a little behind the hog and to the right, he should have a good bit of shadow from the hog on him but I don't see it. I also don't see anything that would be large enough to be the shadow from the hog on the ground.

I did a search on the feral hog and sure enough I came up with MANY websites - so it does appear to be legit. Wild hogs are generally buried because of all the diseases they carry and one this big would not have meat suitable for consumption. Yikes! I had a bird fly into my windshield once...and then it stuck there! Broke his little neck and then glombed onto my windshield with his eyes open just looking at me. Of course I had DS in the car...he was 3 or 4...and even at 9 he STILL remembers it! Afterwards we pulled over into Home Depot's parking lot and buried it under the bark mulch.

And as far as birds flying in the house being a bad omen...well, then I am in BIG trouble since right now all 10 of them are out and flying about. They love it when I come into this room..I usually have one or two on my shoulder..

I don't know how my DD didn't see it when she went to ride her bike. She had to ride right past the car. lol She still doesn't know about it. She'd make me feel guilty forever.
