Is there such a feature?

I just wrote something onto Microsoft Works Word Processor. Is there a feature on there that will count how many "characters" that I have just wrote? Or do I need to count them by hand? LOL

I don't know about Works...but in word, you highlight what you want to count, go to Tools and then Word Count.

This is true for MS Works WP too. Highlight what you want, click 'Tools' in the toolbar at the top, then 'Word Count' and a pop up window will open giving you the count.
