Is There Still A Wait At Trader Sam's?

I was only there once last year in May & to make sure I got inside when they opened, I joined the line of others at about 3:30 outside. I'm planning a trip with my boyfriend this coming Sept. & he's never been to TS's so I'm wondering if the same plan to get there early would be necessary now at all? If we wanted to go at night after Wishes or Illuminations, is there a rush at that time? We're not sure if we are going to try to make it a break between park hopping in the afternoon or go at night.

We'd be going there one day during the week, not on a weekend.

We visited on a Tuesday at the end of May, arriving late afternoon at around 5ish, and there was no queue. It also wasn't overly busy inside and it didn't take long to get a seat at one of the small tables.

Good to hear! I was hoping we'd be able to get a table for two since when I went last year with a couple friends, we were at the long table in the middle w/the bar stools & it wasn't the best view or very comfortable IMO..

I was so distracted when I was there last year that I didn't even pay attention to the tables. Are there tables for two or is it shared seating?

Has anyone tried to go later? We were planning to go at 7 before our 9:30 ADR at Cali grill. Will we have to wait at that time in November? Thanks!

1) For the most part, indoors is "shared" seating. *
2) There a few low "tables" along the edges where two people could sit.
3) But, these are actually SMALL tables for four with two of the seats being against the wall on a bench and two chairs facing the wall.
4) It is meant as a group environment, not a two-person romantic hide-away.
5) Plus, until 9:00pm, kids are allowed, so they might be running around your table (and frequently are).
. . . after 9:00pm, it is 21-and-over-only

* The outside seating does (usually with an umbrella) have tables-for-four where you could enjoy only two person seating.

I believe it is 21 only after 8 PM, not 9 PM inside

1) I stand corrected.
2) The night we were there, we saw kids until 9:00pm.
3) The OFFICIAL TIME is 8:00pm, but sometimes parents allow kids to over-stay their time.
4) Once admitted, Disney usually does not toss out guests.

I'm thinking that for our group of 8 trader sams will be a little bit of a gamble (my aunt and uncle will be with us and want to sit down). Does anyone have another suggestion for a bar on the monorail that would be fun and memorable? If doesn't need to be as "themed" as Trader Sams.

We've been at multiple times during the evening, and found the longest wait was when we arrived before 4 pm to get in at opening. Other than that, the other times we went, the longest we waited was about 5 minutes. That was with a party of 5.

Our upcoming trip will be the first Disney trip where DS is 21, I thought this would be a neat place for him to have his first adult Disney beverage so we are planning on our first night there. It's strange that we've been taking him since he was 6 and now he's old enough to drink! Funny he's been aging and I'm certain I'm the same age as when we started :rolleyes1:P

Mizners at the Grand Floridian is very nice. They serve a wicked dirty martini.

Same for my son. He turns 21 during our trip in less than 2 wks. I am planning to take him to TS that evening. We are spending the day at Epcot.

We will be there in September to celebrate my DD's 21st and Traders Sams was her first choice !!!
We plan to go over during the MK fireworks (perhaps less of a wait for a party of 8)

We only had a part of 2, but we were able to walk right in at 7pm last Friday night. We had a nice drink before our 7:45 O'hana reservation. We were so surprised that there wasn't a wait on a Friday night!

So glad to see this. My DH really wanted to try Trader Sam's when we are there in 2 weeks but I didn't want to wait. This will make him very happy

just sharing the . "pain!" Going in August with DD 20 and her friend. Both turn 21 within two months of trip
