Is there anytime of the year anymore to visit Disney when no schools have break?

As others have said, it's when the breaks happen. My son lives with my ex in VA. I live in MD. Our school breaks and his never coincide (making it difficult for me to arrange for care when I have him since the care places near me are always on a different schedule than he is). Heck in our state different counties now sometimes have different breaks.

There is also an increase in foreign visitors these days. As others have said - very different breaks. A lot of South America now.

And yeah - I don't hesitate to pull my son out for 3 days to visit Disney (I don't like to pull him for a week). If you give the teachers enough notice and the kid generally does well with homework, they are very accommodating in giving us work we can do in preparation or during the trip - but he's a straight A student, so they generally aren't worried about a few days. A few years ago when he was struggling, they were more hesitant for him to miss a few days (and I use Disney as an incentive for him to keep his grades up!).

We went Feb 3-6 this year as an adults only trip. It was much less crowded than we experience in June/July and comfortable weather

I think there is some time in January and February that is good, but you have to avoid MLK, marathons/races, President's Day and Mardi Gras (some schools in LA get out a week for that....we met a family arriving the Saturday we were leaving).

I work in schools, so I can only travel over breaks, and I "only" get 5 weeks off in summer (mid June to mid July). I can only take 3 personal days a year, but next time we go to Universal or Disney, I will probably just make a shorter trip and do a Wed-Sun in early Feb.

I don't think think you will see that many folks in Jan. We aren't blessed with kids but when we go low season it sometimes takes the magic atmosphere from the parks! So for all those who bring children thank you! I delight in seeing their faces. But I appreciate that as a full time Mom, Dad or guardian in a busy park must be hard work. Go medium crowd low heat! Fall or start of year.

We are in TX and still have a pretty tradition break system. We get summer from 2nd week of juke to mid august, spring break(one of the earlier ones-first full week in march), we get the whole week of thanksgiving and 2 weeks at Christmas. We do get a long weekend at eastern(good Friday and the following Monday), but other than that its the normal holiday single days.

Mardi Gras break was always the time to go to Disney! Some friends that went recently during Mardi Gras told us that the whole state of Louisiana must have been at Disney LOL. We weren't even in New Orleans, I think the whole state gets out for Mardi Gras (or at least used to) but I could be wrong. We live in Texas now and have lived in three different cities in different parts of the state and haven't gotten out for hunting season, or anything like a fall break Come to think of it, we *may* have gotten a day or two for dove season but that was when my oldest was pretty young and I can't remember. We did pull them out of school for our last trip which was in September, and we loved going that time of year, but this time we are going in August before they start back to school. My oldest is going into 8th grade now and I don't know if pulling them for a week is the best thing anymore

When I was in school, the whole state didn't get out for Mardi Gras. I feel deprived!!!! LOL

It's interesting... I had 190 school days a year growing up, and my kids now have 180 per year. Where I live, they have identified some lower performing public schools and are extending their school year by 20 days.

My husband and I joke about the kids only having school on a Mon and Fri 50% of the school year! They have a Spring break, Christmas break, Summer break, and the rest are shorter... A lot of 4-day weekends.

I'm from IL and the kids in our town do not get a fall break. We have 2 days at the end of October for conferences, 1/2 of Thanksgiving week (Wed, Thurs, Fri), 2 weeks for Christmas break, and 1 week for Spring Break. Of course the various national holidays thrown in, but that's it. They also get one early release day per month (leave school 1 1/2 hours early), usually a Wednesday.

LOL! That's how I feel. So much vacation!

Here are the dates my kids are off school for 2016-2017 This is in Atlanta Metro area, about 6.5 - 7 hours driving from the mouse:

• Aug 7 - Last Day of Summer
• Sept 3 - 5 (3-day weekend-Labor Day)
• Oct 6 - 10 (5-day Fall Break)
• November 19-27 (week of Thanksgiving)
• December 22 - January 4 (2 week winter break)
• January 14 - 16 (MLK 3-day weekend)
• February 17 - 20 (President's Day 4-day weekend)
• March 10 - 12 (totally random 3-day weekend in March)
• April 1 - 9 (Spring Break)
• May 26 - First Day of Summer

We have 180 days of school. No early releases though, when the kids are off, they are off for the full day.

There are no absolutes, but September 10-October 5 is still the sweet spot for the time when there are no protracted school breaks, (except for the year-round calendars as noted above. But they are still a small minority of school districts). During the September 10-October 5 time period, there will be one or two Jewish holidays that impact some, but not all, school districts, but that's pretty much it. Canadian Thanksgiving and Columbus Day are after October 5, as are most "Fall Breaks" to the extent that a school district has one. Sometimes Columbus Day and Yom Kippur fall in the same week as they do in 2016, and that can cause sort of a mini-vacation for school districts that observe both. When that happens, you will notice a higher number of families taking their kids out of school for an extra day or two (or even three) to make a whole week's vacation out of it, since they already get two free days that week. But again, that will always be after October 5.

I didn't have a fall break as a kid but my kids' schedule starts earlier (1st/2nd week versus last week of Aug).

School begins Aug 11th
Labor Day - 3-day weekend
Fall Break - 1st week of October
Thanksgiving Break (W-F)
Christmas Break (2 weeks)
MLK Day - 3-day weekend (can be revoked for snow makeup)
Presidents' Day - 3-day weekend (can be revoked for snow makeup)
Teacher Professional Development Day - March 3-day weekend (can be revoked for snow makeup)
Spring Break - 1st week of April (up to 3 days can be revoked for snow makeup)
Last Day of School (if no snow days) May 16th
13 additional snow days built into end of calendar
**Our last day this school year is May 26th

I took my older kids (3 at the time) during the first week of May 2010 and we loved it. I'd love to visit during that time again.

We don't have fall break in our county, I guess that's unusual though. It still seems like a lot of days off/breaks anyway though

My kids are actually on the exact same schedule that I was when I was a kid. 1st day is day after Labor day, then Thanksgiving with a 1/2 day on Wednesday, Christmas break from 24th to 2nd (1/2 day 23rd), Feb break President's day week, April break on 3rd Monday, then school until late June, depending on snow days.

The most kid free times are early September, early November, early December, late January/early Feb (not marathon), and early May.
