Is there anything to do if we skip the shows?

We have early dining, so we'd be seeing the evening shows. I've been looking at navigators, and it seems like other than movies, there really isn't anything else to do. Am I reading this correctly?
Thanks

Most activities are scheduled during non meal/show times. But there are some things scheduled. It can vary from cruise to cruise. We enjoy one of the lounges (often with live music).

I preface this with the fact that my travel party is always a group of adults so this would probably be boring for kids, but if we decided not to go to the shows then we would go to the lounges/bars and listen to the live music. We also love to play shuffle board on the decks and just walk around the ship to see what we could find. I definitely agree with the others in the fact that it's prime pool/hot tub/slide time.

There's always lots of music around the ship. We have late dinner and I usually skip the shows and go to bar for a drink while the rest of the family goes to show

Maybe squeeze in a little shopping in the gift shops. Then relax by a hopefully less crowded pool.

As a first time Disney Cruiser, we wanted to see all the shows, and for the most part we did. Then, right after that we would rush off to get a seat for the evening event in the Tube or D Lounge or whatever. Or my kids running off to some event in the Vibe right after the main show. Too many things back to back. But because we hadn't seen any of the shows, we wanted to, and we were glad we did. But next time, we will skip some of them.

So to me, the best thing to do after dinner if I wasn't going to the main show would be to RELAX a bit. Slow down. Not have to rush to the next event. That way, we'd have say a half hour of down time, and THEN we could go to whatever was happening elsewhere on the ship after the show.

Have fun!

Ive gone to the rainforest room, enjoyed a glass of wine on the verandah with my aunt, and explored the ship.

I've seen 2/3 of the shows on Dream and disliked them both (GM more intensely than VT), so much so that the family won't let me see Believe lol (I have a low threshold for cheese and do appreciate a viable storyline in a show), so I spend a lot of time not seeing the shows and still enjoying myself.

We always end up in Skyline having drinks. I've been to *one* show ever, and that was on our last cruise.

The problem I find with the early show is having to get ready for it, cuts into my late afternoon pool time so I will often stay at the pool longer if we aren't doing the show. We have also done a couples massage at that time, listened to live music, or gone to Meridian to have a cocktail and watch the sunset.

Keep in mind that half the ship is eating while the other half is seeing the shows, so I'd imagine it's a fairly good time for CM's to eat and get a break, too. There's plenty to do, but not many planned activities.

Pool deck (except on Pirate night when it closes early), go to a bar, go see a movie in the theater.

You can also watch the shows on the in room tv.

Yep. Just as a note, the shows on the in-room TV are pre-recorded and may not even be the cast on board. But it's the show.

Isn't anything to do?!! If the only things you care about are trivia/bingo/karaoke then no, they wont be happening at these times. But, pretty much everything else is open for business: slides, pools, b-ball court, live music here and there, movies on deck and in the theater, hang at the bar, snag some ice cream! The ship is your oyster :)

Swimming, sunbathing, Aqua Duck or Aqua Dunk, watching the sunset, miniature golf, sports deck, Dectective Agency game, watching Disney movies in stateroom, etc. It's a cruise- relax & you'll find something pleasant to do.

We've cruised DCL twice & never attended a show, and were never bored.
