I've read so many reports on the bad meals at Sci-Fi. I am curious to know if anyone likes anything at all there?

My DH liked the Rueben sandwich. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was nasty...really dry. The BLT soup was pretty good though, and the onion rings were awesome.

The BBQ ribs looked good, but I had just had them the night before, and we would be having them later in the week at Hoop De Doo, so I passed on those. Should have had them.

Did I mention that the grilled chicken sandwich was nasty? Avoid it.

DH had the shrimp pasta at dinner and it was actually very good - lots of flavor. My catfish was flavorless. Course I think flavoring might have a lot to do with who's the chef in the back that night, you know? SInce there are so many mixed reviews on here regarding specific dishes.

The burgers are usually pretty good - we also enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip and chips.

I also enjoyed the artichoke dip, could have/should have had it as a meal. Rueben was ok, just plain. The rest of our meals were not bad, just blah. Glad we were on the free dining plan, would have cried if we had paid oop.

We have had and really like the rueben, cheeseburgers, shrimp penne pasta, artichoke dip, milkshakes and the onion rings are the BEST! The only thing I have not cared for was the cobbler.

I go to SCI-Fi everytime I am at WDW. I really like the Hamburgers, best at WDW IMO. The onions rings are fantastic. The Reuben was one of the best I have ever eaten. The shakes are great. The soda are bottomless. The sundaes are darned good too.
I have two ADR's for my Sept/Oct '06 trip and will enjoy each and every bite of whatever I order.
One last thing: I actually remember seeing the whole movie of the monster wearing the fish bowl when I was eight years old and it scared the heck out of me. Now I can laugh at it and enjoy a meal at the same time.
:happytv: :thumbsup2

My father liked the salmon. However the steak I had was average, at best. We won't be returning for dinner, but might try it this year for lunch.

DITTO!

We always avoided the Sci-Fi due to all the bad reviews it gets. But we decided we would try it for ourselves. We had the cheeseburgers. They were great. We liked it so much we went back again the next day. We always eat a lot of burgers. I agree that they were the best at WDW (IMO). :)

Like all we were reluctant to go there, because of the bad reviews. Finally, we went. We fell in love with the place. The kids are down right crazy about the place. We have been there three times. The first time, I ordered the Rueben. The second time, I ordered the Rueben. The third time, I ordered the Rueben. You know what, I recommend the Rueben. I love Ruebens. We already have our ADR for our next trip. Guess what I will order?

Have fun.

DGD and I shared the artichoke dip, cheeseburger, and each got our own milkshakes. YUMMY! We were stuffed! And, of course, we loved the atmosphere! Going back to do the same in Dec. :thumbsup2

Great feedback! Thanks everyone!! I guess we will have the burgers. Others have said that Beaches and Cream has the best burgers in DW. Has anyone had both? We love burgers, so we may need to sample both places for a taste test!!

We had the flat iron steak skillet, and thought it was great.
:thumbsup2

I would have to agree with the poster who commented that the food was reflective of the cook at the time. I have loved (and longed for) the bbq chicken sandwhich with crispy onions on the top. 2 times it was to die for. The thrrd time, really not good at all.

The kids love the cars and the movies and it is always nice and cool inside so I am sure we will be back regardless of the food.

Does any one else feel MGM offers the best restaurants among all the parks?

I had a steak thing with onions on top and loved it! The burgers were great, and then onion rings were awesome.

Gee, we're DVCer's and eat out a lot on WDW - we Loved Sci Fi! I mean - its not Jiko, but we had a great time.

Our family still dies laughing anytime we mention the Colossal man and how he impales a man with a giant syringe! "I don't want to grow anymore!"

The Flat Iron steak sandwich is out of this world. I've had it on the last 3 trips I believe. It's awesome. The onion rings are great too. We've had hamburgers, ruebens, pasta, catfish etc. We love it here.

The drinks are really good. So is the BLT soup and their salad if you like blue cheese type dressing-it is like a blue cheese vinagrette. I think MGM has some of the best sit downs-lots of fun:)

I really liked it, but I love sandwich type fare, so it's my thing. I think I had some kind of chicken club (?) not memorable, but ok. The onion rings were yummy too.

The moonpie for dessert was out of this world. Yum!! :lovestruc

I like the Sci-Fi especially for lunch. I love the atmosphere. The food is average. I would stick to the basic burger type meal. But definately get a shake.

I used to love the BBQ pork sandwich. Don't think it's on the menu anymore though. :(
