Is there anything tasty at Sci-Fi?

DH and I had a great lunch here during our honeymoon trip. I think I had a cheeseburger and DH had a catfish sandwich, and I definitely remember the milkshakes! We loved Sci-Fi and are actually a little sad that we won't be visiting again this trip -- there are just too many other places we haven't tried yet!

Burgers, onion rings, shakes---can't go wrong with that!!!

The chicken sandwich with the gouda & onion straws is amazing!!!

Nothing else I've had there has really been spectaular, but nothing has been outright awful either.

See...that is the sandwich I had, and I thought it was terrible. The onion straws were good, but the rest of the sandwich was really dry, and just, nothing special at all.

Oh well, just shows that everyone has different tastes, and you just have to try something to see what YOU think of it!

I agree. I thought the chicken sandwich was terrible. I have eaten the burger and really liked it, but I have great and abiding affection for the onion rings. DH had some sort of sundae (can't remember what kind), and he really enjoyed it.

I had the flat iron steak and it was sooooo good! Dh had the ribs, he also thought they were really good. Oh, and the spinach artichoke dip is really good too! :thumbsup2

It's not only the poor food at Si-Fi that turns me off; it's also the very poor service. I've enjoyed a wide range of execllent restaurants at WDW; but this one is by far the worst of the lot.

We had nachos, chili, hamburgers, rueben, and shakes. We especially loved the shakes :cool1: . Our service was fair.

Once I got inside I had good service, but I waited like 45 minutes to get in ,in mid August with low crowds

We loved the Reuben too! My family had a great time at Sci-Fi, and the burgers were great also!

I'm getting pretty hungry for those onion rings!

Keep it simple at Sci Fi. Bergers, appetizers and shakes are fine. I do not recommend SF for dinner. If you want to impress the little one's, get them a drink in the collectors cup with "glow cubes."

:goodvibes :goodvibes

Another vote for the shrimp penne pasta. My DD got that. DS got the ribs, which were typical ribs (think Damons or Outback). They were fine, but not melt in your mouth rave about it fine.

I shared off both of their plates, so that's how I tried both.

We love it and go every time! We've enjoyed the flat iron steak, burgers, chili, salads, and the delicious desserts and shakes!

We'll be there for dinner next week..previously we've only done lunch at SciFi. I noticed that burgers are not on the dinner menu...does anyone know if you can still order one for dinner????

Y'all have my mouth watering for onion rings now.... :p

We usually all get burgers and shakes, however lat time we were there I ordered the turkey sandwich...I was surprised how good it was..I loved it...plus it came with some sort of cucumber/canatlope salad that I thought sounded horrible, but was delicious as well. Never had a bad meal there. :cool1:

I had the ribs when I went in February and was not impressed at all. They weren't horrible but after eating at Chef Mickey's, 50s PT and Crystal Palace, I was expecting more from WDW and Sci Fi just didn't follow through. Could've been an off night though.

Karnak, first of all I love your user name. Makes me want to walk like an Egyptian.... :rolleyes1 Remember that song?

And second of all, I feel your pain about the Sci-Fi place. I choked down a burger who's patty of meat tasted like cardboard and was as dry as an Egyptian sandstorm. My shake tasted like it was made of some chemical concoction and not real milk or milk products. Weeeeeeiiiiiirrrrrrrrdddd! The service was even worse than the food. The place was less than half full at the time so maybe our burgers had been on "hold" for several days. The fries tasted like they had been cooked in rancid grease. Blech!

I'm glad others had a more positive dining experience. As for me, I'll just mosey on over to the Brown Derby. The food and service there were fantastic.

Maybe its as one poster said... that your experience all depends on the chef who's working that day. I just wished he'd found something other than my hamburger to use as his toilet paper.
