For WDW's 35th birthday?? I haven't heard about anything yet and I'm sort of suprised.

That will be right around the time the HCOE is ending, so I suppose it is possible.

But IIRC there wasn't a specific to-do for the 30th either. In 2001, when WDW turned 30, the event was "100 Years of Magic" to celebrate Walt's 100th birthday. It started on October 1, 2001, WDW's 30th birthday, but the official celebration was for "Walt and all things Disney."

There hasn't been a specific WDW anniversary party since the infamous 25th Anniversary Castle Cake of 1996!

It does seem likely, given that the Happiest Celebration ends, according to some accounts, September 30, 2006. That would pave the way for the "next" celebration to begin October 1, 2006, the 35th anniversary of the opening of the Magic Kingdom.
