Is there any way possible to find out our dining rotation PRIOR to the cruise? This will be our first cruise with DCL and want to experience the whole Animators Palate show. The problem being that since we are on the islands (Key West, Cozumel) through dinner time, we most likely will stay on the island for dinner and things. We like to spend as much time on the island as possible and are not into running back to the ship for all our meals, BUT since Animators Palate is supposed to be something to see, we'd like to experience it! We are also in the process of planning our excursions and would like to possibly do some that would take us through dinner. Is there any way to find out when we are going to be in AP now?

Thanks! Mrsfuzzmo

Both times we sailed, we found out our rotation upon entering the stateroom. The tickets and rotation are on your tickets laying on the desk when you enter. I dont think there is a way to find out sooner.

The dining rotation will be on your id card you get at checkin at the terminal. Look for an abbreviation like:

LAPLAPL (Lumiere's, Animator's, Parrot Cay, etc)

That way while you are in line waiting to board, you can plan your strategy for Palo's, or know before you board that you want to change the rotation at Guest Services on board

Hey Mrsfuzzmo~
You won't find out your rotation until you check in, it's on your KTTW card and there is a ticket in your cabin with your rotation information/location on it.

You're so close to the ship almost all of the time you're on the islands, you can go back for dinner and then back out when you're done... just don't forget what time the ship is leaving, as they leave ON TIME and wait for no one!

DCL probably juggles rotation assignments, table assignments, and server asignments until the end -- and they don't tell you your specific assignments until you check in. However, you could request a rotation ahead of time. They won't guarantee to honor your request, but they should attempt to do so. Contact your travel agent.

I hope your expectations about Animators Palate are realistic. On this board, people write about the "Animators Palate show," as though it's an entertainment event. Really, it's just clever, changing decor, coordinated with music. Yes, it's fun, but the real, not-to-be-missed shows are in the Walt Disney Theatre.

Book the romance package. Apparently when you prebook your Palo's, you have the option of working out your rotation as well.

Now, given how often things seem to change with that package, keep in mind it's not "guaranteed", but many people on the cruise I am on could do this...

I didnt' ask my TA to do it, because we don't really have any preference, not having done this before.

Depends on what category room you have.

We are in a CAT 3 and called and got a choice of rotations, Palo ressies, and the opportunity to schedule excursions.

I agree with Horace...I would not plan my whole night around the AP "show". Like he said it is just a subtle changing of colors in the restaurant put to music and is not that fantastic. The wait staff then switch their vests from black & white to color.

It is interesting and innovative, but again, I would not change my island plans to see it.

Out of the 3 restaurants, AP was my least favorite. I much preferred Triton's and Parrot's Cay. Well Palo was my favorite...but it isn't in the "normal" rotation.

Billinaz,
Who did you call to find out your rotation and book excursions?
We are in a cat.4 family suite. I would like to call and make a request but don't know who to call.

Thanks!
