Is there any reason not to delay renewal

My pass expires in mid-September. I am using it for a trip next week, and we won't be back until next May. I'm going to wait, and may have to just get tickets for the days I'll be there. Good excuse to go to Knott's and maybe do a pool day. We have DVC points for the Grand Californian. We'll just wait and see what Disney does.

As is, it seems like DL is only allowing renewals 30 days PRIOR to expiration. So, once your pass expires you cannot renew. That would be the disadvantage to waiting.

They are not selling new passes at this time. If you allow your pass to expire, you will not be able to renew it and will not be a purchase a new one because they are not selling new ones at this time. You can only renew your pass before it expires.
