Is there any easy to figure out if we should hold on to our last contract?

Anyone have any tips for helping us decide if we should hold on to our DVC contract? We started out with three contracts and are down to one.

Our kids are getting older and no longer want to do Disney. It's nice to scoot over to Vero once in a while but we could pay cash for a one or two night stay.

We are FL residents so finding room discounts isn't usually difficult.

We originally purchased DVC when we lived in Michigan and our children were in elementary school.

I guess I'm answering my own question.

Any thoughts?

Agree that it seems you answered already. We love our points but would probably sell in your circumstance.

Only other thought- grandkid visits in the future? You could always re-purchase if so...

IMO, if your contract is a small contract then it would be nice to hold onto for the occasional perks that show up for members or the occasional urge to stay in a larger space than a traditional hotel room.

However if it's a larger contract - it's a good time to sell.

Do you have a use for the money that is currently tied up in DVC? Do you think that the value of the resale will go down and now is a good time to pull your principle out?

You can sell and rent from an owner if you decide to vacation at WDW in the future.

or

You could rent out your points each year and keep your contract.

Unless you need the cash, why not use one of the major DVC renters to rent out the points?

They typically pay DVC members $11/point, more than enough to cover the MF.

If, in 2 or 3 years, you find that you still are not using the DVC and won't for the foreseeable future, then you can sell.
