Is there an October 2011 codes watch?

I decided to switch our dates from 10-29 for 9 nights to 9-24 for 8 nights. I figured chances are I won't get a pin in the mail, and since there is a room-only rate available now, it was worth the savings of $1751! So we'll celebrate Halloween a few weeks early. It's also easier to take the kids out earlier in the school year before the homework hits hard and heavy.

I really hope they open up those two weeks in October that are blacked out. Does anyone know if they did the same last year?

I still have my e-mail from Disney for 2010 with the list of dates the "special resort offer" covered. Those dates were: For stays most nights 1/3–1/6/10,
1/10–1/14/10, 1/18–2/11/10, 2/15–3/27/10, 4/11–7/1/10, 7/5–10/7/10, 10/11–11/23/10 and 11/28–12/16/10.

There were several days that were not covered in early October. I know we paid a much higher p/night rate at BC for 10/8/10 than we did for the 10/1/10-10/7/10 portion of our stay.

F&W is very busy at that time AND they have the half marathon that is run early on as well. You can always hope, but if they have listed weeks already with discounted pricing, I wouldn't expect them to add more--unless, obviously, reservations are in the tank. You just never know what will happen though with Disney. :confused3

Thanks Tess! :) Our reservation is the third week of October so I'm going to try and hold out hope. lol!

I'm going nuts reading all these posts!!! No PIN here yet -- hoping to go the week of 10/23 since my daughter turns 3 on 10/30. I want to sneak a trip in while she is free but avoid heat if possible. That week of Oct is ideal. I've been checking my email daily and nothing! Ughhhhhh!!!!!!

I wish I could give you mine!!! The 23rd is the week we can't go and I have a pin for those dates. Ugh.

Hey everybody! I kept hearing about everybody else getting PINs, and I was so jealous, because I hadn't gotten one. Then the other day, I was like, "I should go clean out my Trash folder, because I haven't done that in awhile." And there it was! :woohoo: Check your junk mail if you thought you hadn't gotten one.

So now I'm thinking that I'll book with the 35% off. (We're staying at CSR.) If it actually is cheaper to do Free Dining instead, then I'll take off the room rate code and the dining plan, and add on Free Dining. My FI is a AAA member, so we'll get 20% CSR regardless. Tomorrow I have no work or school, so I'm gonna get up early and do some math. That's the only math I like: Disney vacation planning math!

Future what is this 20% off at CSR for AAA member? We are AAA members too, unless this is another triple A or something else.

I think it's only a 15% discount for AAA - at least that's what I got at POFQ.

If you book a room only, you can book directly with Disney and request the AAA discount. If you want to book a package, you can get the AAA discount off the room part of the package, but you have to book through a AAA travel agent.

Ok thanks. Looks like my pin is the better offer.

My room-only AAA rate at the Polynesian (last week in Oct) is only a 10% discount. Better than nothing, but I still may need to downgrade my reservations if a better deal doesn't show up. No pin for us, but I'm holding out hope for a better public discount later this summer.

Yup, Poly and other Deluxes, except Y&BC are 10%.

Here's what's in the brochure, at least for our club:
Here's what the brochure says:
Value resorts, all seasons except holiday: 10% off; nothing during holiday

Moderate resorts, value season: 20%
Moderate resorts, regular season: 15%
Moderate resorts, fall season: 15%
Moderate resorts, peak & summer: 10%

Deluxes except Yacht Club and Boardwalk, value season: 15%
Deluxes except YC & BW, other seasons except holiday: 10%
Yacht Club & Boardwalk, value season: 20%
YC & BW, other searson except holiday: 15%

Deluxe villas except SSR & OKW, value, regular & fall seasons: 20%
Deluxe villas except SSR & OKW, peak & summer seasons: 10%
SSR & OKW, value, regular & fall seasons: 25%
SSR & OKW, peak & summer seasons: 15%

So that brochure, is that for booking through AAA, or just the discount you get if you call Disney and tell them you have AAA?

I finally booked a room-only to hold my All-Star Family Suite for October, but the AAA discount he said I could use was only 5 percent, and I think I could only use it 6 of 8 nights (is Columbus Day weekend a "holiday?")

I have a ressie for BC for early Nov that I called Disney and asked for the AAA rate and compared to rack rate when I look up BC, it works out to 15% off.

If it's a package, you must book through AAA to get the AAA discount. The discount is only on the room portion of the package.

If it's a room-only, you can get the discount directly from Disney, which is what I did.

According to the brochure (sorry I didn't put down all the details originally), the Fall Season discount for Value and Moderate resorts is 9/30-10/6, 10/10-11/18, and 11/26-12/22. So it looks like Columbus Day weekend doesn't count.

Regular Season and Fall Season for Deluxes are different, though - this whole "seasonal"thing that Disney has put together is ridiculously complicated!

You might want to call AAA or go online and get the brochure.

Ok, can someone tell me what current offers there are for Oct if there are any right now?

I believe the only public deals offered right now are on the Disney website. They have up to 40% off code until October 1 and a kids stay and play for free deal until October 1.
Dealing with codes in the past, it is our understanding that as long as you arrive on or before October 1 you get the discount throughout the length of your stay.

That is only true with the FD , not with the % off room promo out there currently the discount ends 10/1 so 10/2 and on is full rack rate.

I about have given up on getting that 40% off pin everyone talked about, Changed my dates twice now, at first we were booked Oct 23-29, changed to 9/29 to 10/5 for FD and more recently for the 35% promo 9/26 - 10/2, just last week changed resorts and now staying at a Villa which is 40% off .....I just don't think I am going to get a pin for late Oct like I want :sad2:

Waiting now to see what Disney offers in the way of promotions when the current ones end on 3/27, but I can live with my reservation, just afraid it is going to be hotter than I might like late Sept-early Oct.

Thanks for the updates on the public offerings.

Yeah I was able to get a pin for Oct. but it seems like we might have more families going than I can afford to use a pin for so I was hoping there was some type of public offering for late october even if it was like 15%.

OK, so I was finally able to pull up my reservation e-mail (I was having issues with it yesterday when I posted), and after running the numbers myself it did apply 10 percent to 6 of my 8 nights. I guess the CM misspoke, but he did apply the correct discount, so all is well.

Fingers crossed for all of us to get the discounts we want. I still can't decide on free dining or a good room discount being better for us.
