Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but thought I would try!! Going to MK in Dec with some friends, and although we will be acting like kids, we may want to stop for a drink. Is there any place in MK, or is just at Epcot??:confused3 Not planning on getting out of control, just a friendly holiday cocktail:rolleyes1 Thanks for any ideas!

No, there is no alcohol in the Magic Kingdom. You could take the monorail to one of the resorts.

that's what alcoholics say too...

What do you think this is? Busch Gardens?

Seriously, I'm glad they don't allow it in... too many people would go overboard, not meaning too...With so many people, this is a recipe for disaster.

For those who don't know, the successor company to Anheuser-Busch (ABInBev) stopped passing-out the free beer at their theme parks.

As for the A-B parks, themselves -- as of this writing, they are very close to be being sold to a third party.

I'm afraid there is no alcohol to be found in the Magic Kingdom. However you are just a short monorail ride away from the Poly/Contemporary/Grand Floridian, and they all have lounges in which you can grab an adult beverage.:)

You can buy alcohol at all of the parks except MK. As others have stated from the MK you are a quick monorail ride to the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian. You can also take the boat to the Wilderness Lodge.

thanks, but I live in Busch's backyard and am aware of it... the point was that many folks still assume and not aware of the changes, so I thought it was relevant, even if the info was out of date.. thanks for bringing us up to speed.

and they've been sold now... Blackstone group... same owners as universal now.. I'm hoping that they will do a pass that allows folks to get admission to both Universal and Busch parks in Central Florida... I would sign up for that..

If you decide to head over to the Contemporary for a drink it's quicker to just walk over then take the monorail.

Huh?!?! There is alcohol in every other park and people do not go overboard. Well, some might.

No there is no alcohol in the MK but I have seen people sipping and pouring out of flasks.

I have never seen too many people going overboard at Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Not sure what you are implying. :confused3

as a kid on our family trip to WDW - we stopped at A-B and they have a "guest relations" house that gave free beer - My dad was in beer heaven!! :rotfl2:

then when we entered MK he saw a similar sign -- and almost ran looking for FREE BEER :rotfl2::rotfl2: It was priceless when the CM was responding - I think that was the day I learned what "aghast" meant!! Because that CM was aghast that one would even consider beer in the MK (and this was before EPCOT or any other park was built!! I'm old ok?!! ) and yes we teased Dad about it the whole rest of the vacations!! (it was the only beer he got on vacation - Free beer!! :rotfl2: you have to know my dad!)

Have you ever been to F&W festival? I have been standing in a long line for Maelstrom(MIL made me do it)and wondered if I could get drunk on the fumes in there...;)

I would hop on the monorail and go to the Tambu lounge for a Lapu Lapu.

I have seen plenty of people who have Overdone it at EPcot, not at DHS though...and not during the Food and Wine...I had one guy come up to me slurring and leaning on me, and I saw a woman staggering around Germany and than puke in the flowers...People over do it everywhere.

No alcohol at MK but I agree you can go off to a resort and head to the bar. If you have preteens or children old enough to be unattended to for a while I'd say go to the contemporary they have a pretty large arcade. Hand them a bunch of quarters and tell them to meet you after they run out.

It's a nice time to get out of the heat. You could have a drink or two by the time the kids are done playing in the arcade.

Also I wanted to mention about the overdoing it thing. Most people do not, some may actually get sick due to heat exhastion and drinking and not just because they are wasted. Although most that overdo it are usually there for a 21st birthday celebration of drinking around the world. It's quite a tradition but it's also a lot of money, $75 and up.

Wow - I don't drink, and even I think that's kind of harsh.

The other three WDW parks allow alcohol, so it's a perfectly reasonable question. If Disney considered it a recipe for disaster, I think they'd probably keep alcohol restricted to the resorts only.

And I for one have never seen people going overboard anywhere in Disney...not even in EPCOT with the people who try to "drink around the world".

I have, on a number of occasions. I have been spilled on by people who are so smashed they can barely stand. If it requires drinking yourself into a stupor to enjoy your day, then perhaps you are in the wrong place.

Alcohol dehydrates a body. Drinking in the heat of Florida is a recipe for disaster.

Hey that could have been me
:rotfl:

I don't think everyone who sloshes a beer now and then is smashed. If you've ever tried to walk in the crowded epcot street with a completely up to the brim cup of beer, you know what I mean. Especially when the traffic isn't going one way.

I once saw a drunk guy peeing in the bushes at Epcot. Although, to be honest, I think it had less to do with him being drunk (which he definitely was,) and more to do with him being a jerk in general.
