Anyone have experience they care to share? DD had the Covid shot in October her boyfriend had the Flu shot, so they went to a concert and she got Flu B, he was fine. First, yay, I guess this year Flu shot works but now I'm wondering if it is better to wait a little to get the Flu shot for Type A and all the other strains in the vaccine or if it really is ok to do it now without waiting? I have no experience with getting a shot right after recovering from an illness, it seems like a bad idea even though the literature seems to say it's ok with Flu shot.

I'd ask the pharmacist where you get your vaccinations.

Online suggests waiting until feeling recovered. Though I agree with prior poster, check with your pharmacy. I've had 9 COVID shots, waited 3 months for my 8th, after having a super mild COVID episode earlier this year.

Please stop taking the COVID vaccine. I’m begging you.
I know it bothers some people but hand to God it improves my autoimmune disease. Every time I get it I am gifted with a break. My very smart Immunologist thinks it might be because this particular kind of vaccine is giving my body something to do other than attack itself, sort of like giving a puppy a bone so it doesn't chew up the house. No other vaccine helps me, some make it worse in particular the Tetanus and some vaccines my body just ignores and makes no antibodies but I can feel when it helps and I can feel it as it wears off. I know other people suffer miserably and I feel nothing but compassion for them, but for some reason, not me & I am grateful for that.

The ONLY reason they were suggesting on waiting to get a covid shot if you recently got covid infection was that you then had a period of time that you were less likely to get repeat covid and they wanted to conserve the covid shots for those that did not just have a covid infection.

There is no reason to wait anymore and was never a reason to wait with the flu shot.

It takes about 2 weeks for the flu shot to reach its full potential so the sooner the better.

BTW @LuvOrlando I was very pro covid vaccine UNTIL I believe it caused my gallbladder problem and the doctors at a top cancer hospital suggested that its possible that its what caused my mom to have NHL that went from the slow growing non concerning kind to rapidly progressing kind that nearly took her life.
They have told her they do not recommend that she get any more.
I no longer get it but also don't try to tell others what to do.

Ohhhh, I thought it was a waiting period to let the body calm itself down. Your thought makes complete sense.

From what I understand, you're fine getting the flu shot as long as you have mild symptoms (i.e. low grade fever, congestion, etc.).

Thinking on it I hope all the elder care facilities have taken care of everyone already this year, gonna check on MIL's status.

Says it might be less effective but the Flu is quiet right now and I guess DD got one of the strains covered because her boyfriend was fine. She was shocked she had the Flu, no fever or cough but tons of stuffy goo and a sinus infection, she didn't even use the iHealth test kit I sent her and thought it went to urgent care for the sinus misery alone.

So far so good, we can still get ahead of it I think, a few weeks before Christmas and New Years. Time to pester my DD to get the shot and sign the rest of us up.

I had Covid in early October and was advised by my doctor to wait until after the 1st of the year to get the next vaccine for it. But that I could get the flu shot about 2 weeks post Covid as long as all symptoms were gone (no cough, congestion, fever, sore throat). It ended up being closer to 3-4 weeks post covid as the cough did not want to totally go away. So after the flu, I would think she could get it once all symptoms are gone.
