I was wondering if there is a sewing thread/post where I can ask a couple of questions before I start on a project.

I hope I was able to answer your question on the board Shannon mentioned. If not, I'm sure there are plenty of people around (here and there) who can answer or at least give an alternate method to try. One thing I love about sewing is there's really no wrong way to do it - just different ways.
