Just curious if there's a smaller book to carry around for guidance? The Atkins books are huge and I can't see carrying something like that around for those times when there's a question. Thanks!
What kind of question, Barb? I have a pocket sized carb counter and a paper back version of the Atkins basic book. That's as small as they get, I think.
Thanks, Kath. The pocket size carb counter is basically what I was looking for. DH spent Memorial Weekend talking with EpcotKilterFan and was very interested in the controlled carb thing. He's been making a real effort since and I thought it might come in handy to have something with us when we go out to eat.
The portable-size Dr. Atkins' New Carbohydrate Gram Counter is available from Amazon.com for $4.95, even cheaper if you buy it used. It's pretty small. The dimensions (in inches) are 0.37 x 5.64 x 4.07.
Barb, that handsome husband of yours is going to just love Atkins. Wilgus sure does.
The best part is the effect it will have on his cholesterol and triglycerides. Your husband's numbers may be perfectly alright but Wilgus's were dangerously high. Atkins had them under control in less than a month AND has his diabetes under control, too.
My little carb counter book was bundled with the Atkins paperback on Amazon.com. That's where I got mine
