places DVC lets you go? I know there is probably a thread about it already and Im sorry for not searching I am kinda in a rush today but I didnt want to keep forgetting about it.

My DH and I are thinking about purchasing a DVC timeshare and we wanted to know where else the DVC could take us.

TIA!!!

Try "mouseplanet.com". There is a very brief list. Very brief. I just rec'd my DVC packet yesterday which of course is comprehensive, as is the members only website. We actually called a sales person and asked him to give us some examples of where we could go and how many points it would cost. He was quite helpful.

True you get the most value out of your points at DVC resorts, however there are MANY other options all over the place that, if planned wisely, can offer you excellent value for your points. Of course the more points you have the better off you are, but we found many desirable options for S-Th stays, well within our 200 pts.

There are 350 other resorts that can be booked through Intervale International. These are located all over the world. I called on a Key West stay and it was 160 points for the week, not bad. Some trades aren't that lucritive to use points...most will rent there points and use the cash.
But as stated above the best use of DVC points is at a DVC resort. So if you don't plan on staying at WDW at least every other year, you may want to think about it more.

DVC trades through Interval International, but not all resorts are approved for trades...only those Disney considers equal to DVC in quality. That list is about a few hundred long. Point costs are seasonal and by unit size.
Low season...1 bedroom 124 points...2 bedroom 207 points
mid season...1 bedroom 144 points...2 bedroom 252 points
high season...1 bedroom 160 points...2 bedroom 270 points.

FYI, some locations are considered to be high season year round (like Hawaii).

I called DVC and told them I wanted some information. They answered a few questions about points over the phone but then offered to send me the package. I was a little leary of doing this at first because I didn't want some High pressure sales person bugging me. I prefer to do my own research. Well, I gave my address and the package cameFED EX 2 days later. It has all the points charts and several pages of all the places you can trade to. The best part is, the sales person called me once, said review the stuff and he would get back to me in one week. Before the week was over, I left him a voice mail saying that we could not afford 150 points and were going to look into resale. He never called me again. So no sales pressure after all. We are now waiting for paper work to go through on a resale contract.
The most important thing for us was that we wanted to have enough points to be able to go somewhere every year, but we wanted other options in case we felt like going somewhere else once in a while. You will see that there are plenty of places to choose from. I looked at the list for resorts in cities that I knew my family like to visit, ie: Virginia Beach, west coast of Fla. etc.
