Is there a Fastpass FAQ?

There seem to be so many tips and strategies on how to use the fastpasses. I only had to use them on my trip back in 2000, didn't need to this past February. How has it changed? Are there only a limited number you can get? It didn't seem that complicated in 2000. I'll be going to Epcot and MGM in October during the F&W festival.
