We are headed up north next year... I thought I had read somewhere that there is a Disney Quest up North somewhere.. Does anyone know where?

They're making one in New York City ,on 5th Aveneue. That's where the only Disney Store in NYC is located and opened now...I think DQ'S Grand Opening is in Oct. 2004.

There used to be one in Chicago, but I think it closed a while back. Maybe Chicago DISers can confirm.

:( Yep, our Chicago DQ closed afew years back....I never even got in to actually play the games etc! It was always SO crowded that the line to get in trailed outside, and in Chicago in the winter in the Windy city.....Ihave never figured out why they closed it tho, as it was very popular.

Cool! I didn't realize they were building one in NYC. (not that I would ever go there. LOL!) I figured after the one in Chicago closed down a few years ago, that was it for any DQ outside of the parks.

I did get to go in to the Chicago DQ once with my brother a few years back- it was pretty fun as far as giant arcades go. There's a soccer game where you're kicking a real soccer ball attached to a string at a computer sensor and it shows on the screen if you made the goal, etc. Well I booted that thing and hit the goalie in his manly areas- it actually showed the goalie squeezing his legs together and bending over in pain!

Anyway that's irrelevant- it was packed (and I don't think we were going at a particularly popular time- we just drove up on a weekend) so I don't know why it didn't stay open...but anyhoo yep it's closed now, which is okay with me because once is enough for DQ; your options get kind of limited after you get an all-day pass and wear it out.

My DW and I purchased DQ Annual Passes, and then about 10 months later, Disney announced they were closing DQ a month after our APs were to expire. We were bummed, especially since a few months prior, they had just added the Search for Buccaneer Gold attraction, and that was a lot of fun. I'll have to admit though, attendance during that last time was not all that impressive (of course we didn't mind that). I guess Disney was hoping to take advantage of all of the tourist that come to Chicago, unfortunately tourist come to shop, eat, and look at tall buildings and not hang out in what was thought of as a high-tech video arcade. At the time that DQ opened in Chicago, I remember the online press releases at the DQ website stating Disney's plans to build the next DQ in Philly, after that they had their eyes set on opening them across America. But I guess those plans changed. So with DQ Chicago closed we have to settle for the ESPN Zone located at the other end of the block... They're always packed.
