Is there a cutoff time at night to get back into the parks?

Assuming capacity will not be an issue, is there a time at night they will not let you back in the parks? An hour before closing maybe or would it be more? We have a late dinner on one of our MK days and plan on going back to the park afterwards so I want to make sure we get back before they'd turn us away.

As long as the park is not closed you should have no issue getting inside.

One time I was on a business trip to Orlando and went a day early to go to Disney (Sunday). It was in the winter so MK closed early, I was able to see Spectro & Wishes, left the park, got on the monorail and made it to Epcot at about 8:50 to get in for Illuminations.

I've gone into MK just before the fireworks begin...and I definitely wasn't alone. We didn't arrive an hour before, really probably just 10-15 minutes before closing. I had been at the Poly having dinner and decided since I had to go to TTC to get my car that I'd just stop at the park and watch fireworks first.

Now...I will say that everything after the train station was jam packed..so we didn't get very far up Main Street, but hey, we were in the park, fireworks were going off and we were happy. Getting out was a bit quicker since we were much closer to the exit though!

If you're talking though about getting to ride something....that might be a bit harder to do "last minute" because so many people have found their place to wait for the fireworks....not saying you couldn't weave/bob/push your way through, but be prepared for some work doing it and some rude comments from those who had been waiting awhile when they think you're trying to find a spot rather than to get through to a ride, lol.

You are good for re-entry until about 1/2-hr AFTER park closing time.

Yup.

That has certainly been our experience over the last couple of decades.

And, at Epcot, since IllumiNations runs until about 15 minutes, or so,
after the park's "closing time," you will still need a valid ticket for Epcot entry until after IllumiNations is over.
