Is there a cut off date as to when you can switch dvc resorts?

My dd is waitlisted for studio a BWV this summer.Right now she has all 4 nights there but would have to move each night to a dfferent view room.If the waitlist doesn't come through and there is availability elsewhere,will she be able to swith at the last minute without penalty? Tia

She could even change it without penalty during the stay if the same number of points and same resort and unit size as it sound like in this case. In general, the cutoff for this situation is 1 day prior to check in to recapture any points, otherwise one can even make the changes on checkin for the same resort and possibly to change to other DVC resorts as well though I suspect this is handled on a case by case basis. This can even be done with the resort itself in some cases for weekends/holidays. Any recaptured points would go into a holding account once at 30 days from the check in day and would expire at the end of the use year.

She will be able to switch as long as it is the day before, not the check in date. Day-of cancellations result in a forfeit of points. This is also based on availability.

Any point difference in her favor will go into holding at 31 days or less. ie, she goes from a PV to a SV she will save points, but those points will go into holding.

A studio is trickier than the larger units. If she was looking at a 1 bdr. I would say she had pretty good chances of booking last minute at SSR or OKW, but the studios are selling out at all DVC's.

Extra PD for her waitlist, I would hate to move every day
