I seem to remember reading here about a company that everyone speaks highly of to rent points from. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

yes, his website is dvcRequest.com. I have heard very good things about him and may be uusing him myself if I cant get my issues with becoming an owner straightened out! good luck! :)

dvcRequest.com

I too highly recommend them. The owners name is Dave and he provides a great, hastle free, service for dvc owners and non-owners alike.

You are correct, but he does not claim to be a DVC member renting out his points, the situation to which the rule applies. He is a broker -- he hooks up members who want to rent with customers. Under the rule you cite, DVD perhaps could seek to do something to the members who actually go through him to rent their points. Otherwise, it needs to look for other methods if it wants to prevent what he is doing. He was, in fact, the target of the recently enacted rule which prohibits anyone from being an associate member on more than four contracts since one way he was renting was to become an associate member on the contracts of members who wanted to rent some points. Whether DVD has plans for more actions to stop his business is unknown.

I thought having a website renting out points was "commercial use" and against DVC rules. :confused3

Dave's website does not rent out the points, but he acts as a go between who sets up renters with rentees. Much like a matchmaker service does, he puts them together and they do the rest...

Oh...that seems like an awful lot of headache to make a buck, but whatever I guess. I saw the new associate member rule in the latest book - that finally came yesterday. Seems crazy to me.
