Hello,

We currently are booked to stay at SSR for 11 nights with the regular DDP. We have been saving up and now want to upgrade to deluxe. Is there a charge for this? I know there is a charge to amend your reservation but thought that upgrading may not incur a charge. We are booked through the UK so not sure if this changes anything. If the fee is as much as we have heard then we won't be upgrading. Will Disney let us upgrade for free?

Many thanks!

People should understand what they are responding to. No you will only have to pay the difference in plan prices not a service fee.

Are you booking through the US Disney site or the Disney UK site? If you are booking through the US site there is no fee to make this change because you're increasing the total cost of your package, but you will pay the difference between the cost of the DDP and the DxDDP. However, if you're within 14 days of your arrival date there is a $15 change fee. Also, all dining plan changes have to be made no later than 3 days before arrival.

If you are booking through the Disney UK site, I know that there are some rules that are different. You might want to ask this on the UK planning board further down where you'll probably get more responses.

Upgrade from Free Dining? You would have to pay the cost difference between the two plans... It isn't free.

Thanks for the responses- and sorry for the confusion. I know I have to pay to upgrade, lol, I was meaning an amendment/ service fee. I had heard there was a £200 fee to alter a package. However I assumed that perhaps when you upgrade this wasn't the case. We booked with Disney UK so thanks purple figment I will ask on the UK boards :)

This is specifically a question that goes with British bookings - checking the UK forum is a good idea.
