there is not an extra charge to swim with the sharks. The shark reef is a large pook area. You walk up to an shack where you are given a diving mask and a snorkel. You then proceed to the outdoor shower, after you shower you walk around the prementer of the shark pool to a area where you are give instructions on does and don'ts. You can swim across the pool at your own leasure while observing the sharks and stingrays and other assorted fish. Hope this answers your question.

When you swim across the pool, you start at one place and swim across the pool in one direction. You can't just swim around and around. Kind of line a car pool line at school. Enter on the right, exit on the left. Go around and do it again. There are no stopping places once you start except at the very beginning (so little kids won't be over confident and then have problems).
