Is there a chance they may start 6 foot spacing again?

Has anyone heard anything about them doing anything to protect people from the rise in covid cases?
I know they used to have 6 foot spacing and plexiglass up places. I did read they changed spacing to 3 foot and took down some plexiglass.

Nope. CDC hasn't recently recommended or encouraged a specific physical distance, so I don't see Disney or Universal enforcing any distancing. Plus, with the current capacities, the parks couldn't handle that kind of spacing for attraction lines.

No, nothing new. We are local and I've been to the parks (most recently DHS a couple of days ago) and things are unchanged. That's not to say they aren't doing anything to protect people, just that they haven't added any precautions.

I agree with @soniam At current capacities, there simply isn't enough physical space to accommodate distancing anymore. Backtracking on distancing requirements would mean cancelling park reservations for thousands of guests who have purchased park tickets, airfare, etc. Barring some mandate from the CDC it's not going to happen.

I'll also add that if anyone wants to know how concerned Disney is about distancing, I'd recommend checking out the photos / videos of the crowds at HEA - especially the ones on the first day of Boo Bash. It's a sea of humanity.

You can do things to avoid tight crowds, like fireworks and rope drop. However, it does mean missing out on things or changing the way that you may normally do the park. You can also wear a mask in these tight crowds. We went end of July and wore our masks indoors and in the rope drop crowds, before they reinstated indoor mask wearing.

Nope...we're here now...it's like total precovid times except they ask you to mask when you enter the lines. They're back to yelling about filling in all available space; directing TONS of ppl. to the hub saying there are spaces left to watch fireworks when it's packed etc. I think it'd take an act of god for them to go back to spacing...the lines are already spilling out all over the walkways...they'd have to significantly reduce capacity to go back to social distancing and they're not going to.

Unlikely considering Chapek even said something about continuing to opening things up on the earnings call. The fact they are back to the “pack em in” model is the one that kinda ticks me off the most. You can somewhat create your own spacing when in line, but when they stuff those extra 4 or 6 guests into the holding area, there’s nothing you can do…

I seen those 😬

Are the rides back to filling up all spaces? When we went in April, they were skipping rows etc.

It makes people feel better but it's not truly effective, so I don't see it coming back. The virus is airborne and can spread somewhere around 125 feet, so 6 feet of distance just causes clogged up walkways and lines to form at stores and such, while not really being useful. They went with masks, which is what the science shows helps the most.

I don’t see that happening. There isn’t enough room to put people if they go back to social distancing. For anyone worried about Covid, this is not the time to visit Disney. You are sitting next to people in theaters, on transportation, and on rides. They are also back to saying fill in all available space. We were literally standing on top of each other in the stretching room on HM.
