We will be going to WDW at the end of January, and my husband wants to go to Islands of Adventure one day. Is there anywhere that I can find the best days of the week to go? I only want to go on a day if the lines are really short. We went 6 years ago in Janurary, and found almost no lines, but I have a feeling that it's never like that anymore in the WDW/Orlando area anymore!

Also our kids are only 2 and 4. My son (4) is only 39 inches tall. Is it even worth going to IOA with children that small? We love the thrill rides, but I don't want my kids to get bored if there is not much they can ride.

Thanks!

Not too sure which day is best to go in January....I am sure it would be mid week though.

As for the kids, there is plenty for them to do in IOA. If you go to the official Universal site (universalorlando dot com) you can click on the parks and each ride will give you height requirements.

As for the thrill rides you can use child swap or single riders lines.

Hope this helps a bit!!

Once the holiday crowds empty out, Orlando is still pretty empty through the rest of January (with the exception of some small crowd spikes at WDW for the Marathon).

In my experience, I have found that Mon-Wed is the least crowded time at the Universal parks.

There is plenty for younger kids at IOA.

Thanks, I guess we will try mid-week!

Yeah, Jan was pretty empty when we went years ago, but I'm just scared it's not like that anymore. We picked the week of Jan 20-27th because we can't find anything going on then! The week of Jan 6th is the Marathon, and the weekend following is MLK day, so hopefully everybody will there and gone by the time we get there!

We took our 3 and 4 year old boys and they had plenty to do. DS3 was only 37 inches at the time and he rode a lot. Dr Seuss Landing has several rides for the little ones.

I am not sure about what day to go but I can recommend getting there early. We got to the gates at about 8:30 every day and were one of the first ones there. We were able to walk around and ride a lot before the crowds got there at 11:00. I say give it a chance.
