my mom is STRESSING over me just leaving any gift cards/checks/cash in the safe in my hotel room.

Or even in the safe at the lobby desk

SIGH!

:)

They do have a credit union on the grounds, but it is for cast members only. They do have atms in all the parks, hotels, etc. I am not sure which bank you are looking for or if you will have the transportation, but there are a number of banks around WDW.

Hi,

All the resorts have ATMs. Also the parks have ATMs. All Disney rooms I have been in have a safe.

Have a Great Time!!:wizard:

For $$$ that you will need on your trip, I suggest travellers checks. Much safer than anything else.

For potential gifts, have them shipped home to you via Fed-ex from Disney, just make sure to include insurance on the package.

The public in the park and hotel ATM's on Disney property are Bank One. If you have a participating credit union account, you might be able to deposit in one of the public Disney Cast Member Credit Union ATM's (Vista Federal Credit Union).. but you'd need a car, since they are in places like across from DTD, and that backroad over by OKW, and I think in the back of the parking lot across from the Grand Floridian - overflow lot (it's been a long time, don't quote me on that one). They have some agreement w/ other credit unions, because I can deposit in the local credit union by my house.. which is nice since I don't think there is a Vista outside FL or CA!

Where are you staying? We were at the contemporary in december and they have much newer, and wicked cool safes in the rooms. They are electronic and you set the code yourself or use one of your credit cards (it doesn't charge it, just uses it as a unique identifier to open/lock the safe) I liked it much more than the kind with the key, which I'm constantly worried about losing. We used it the whole trip and didn't have any problems.. jewlery, ipod, video camera, psp, a few special pins, and all the gift stuff. DH even wanted to put his laptop in there!

I really think the room safe is the (excuse the pun) safest place to store your gifts. Will your parents or his parents be returning home quickly after the wedding so they can deposit the gifts?
