Is there a April 2011 thread somewhere?

We will be in the world april 2nd-10th! we cant wait!! i keep planning and planning and already buying things! i got things for the plane trip and just got my 2 girls there new suitcases! this will be our first time going and i cant wait!! we are getting our package in Oct. and i cant wait till we pay it off in Feb.!! :cool1::banana:

I think we've pretty much decided on April 9-16th now. Hoping the crowds aren't too bad. I also worry about how much soccer DD will miss. But our other choice is Feb 26 - Mar. 5. Less crowds and no missed soccer....but the Cold worries me!! Don't want to be wearing winter jackets in FL, we do it long enough around here!

Count us in too! We're looking at going after Easter, likely May 7-21. I figure once we're down we might as well stay a while! DW's family (mom, step-dad, sister and brother-in-law) may be coming as well. Most likely the parents but the sister/BIL are on the fence. We're thinking about staying in a pool house in Windsor Hills but have A LOT of different options.

It depends on who is coming and when. DW and/or I will have AP's simply due to the amount of days that we'll be down plus then it makes it easier to go later in 2011 or in 2012. If the in-laws aren't going to be down for the whole time then do we really need a giant pool house for just our little family? Having the separate bedrooms for the kids is nice and our own private pool but we could also be on-site for potentially cheaper w/ AP discounts. It's super early but I'd like to at least get a handle on where we'll be staying before long.

As I'm sure you've gathered I'm also an advocate of planning being "half the fun"! It's funny how it comes in waves though. Sometimes I'll be right into the planning then a few weeks later I just want to be done with the planning and go then a few weeks later I'll be right back on top of the "plotting and schemeing".

BTW is there an "Official May 2011" thread yet?

We'll be there on the 2nd- its our Spring Break. Just glad its not easter this year (though the 7AM EMH rocked because it was so empty.) Nothing like walking the path to rope drop in the dark!

Hi everyone. :)

We are in the World March 24th-April 15th and I can't wait!!!

So far we have booked our flights and two of our resorts (AKV/BLT) and still have 2 more to book.

Have started my PTR as I was too impatient! Link in my signature.

I'm planning my BIG 4-0 trip! BUT my bday is April 14 and my kids spring break is from 4-4 thru 4-8. So I am planning to go April 2-10!
Now I can't wait to book my food ressies. This will be my son (15) and mine 2nd trip to WDW and my daughters (16) 1st! I cant wait for her to try the restaurants. She was soooo excited with the food/service at Ariels Grotto in Disneyland (CA ADV) I cant wait till she expierences the wonderful food and service at WDW not to mention the practical joking at 50's PTC or WCC! :rotfl:
Ahhhh August come already so we can book!!!! :wizard:

I am planning a surprise trip to AKL as an extention to our 4 night Dream Cruise. AKL is a place I have always wanted to stay and couldn't see spending the extra money if we were going to be at the parks all day. So this will be a Resort only trip.

Thinking of making ADR for Ohana and then watching the water parade and Wishes from the beach at Poly. One way to get some Disney magic without actually going to a park.:woohoo: Don't forget Dole Whips!
Any one ever done this?
When will I know if wishes is even on one of these nights?
What time is water parade?
When time should I make ADR for?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Count me in we are going april 28 to may 13 we will be celeb, my DH's and DD birthdays Our anna. and mothers day while we are down there I can't wait to go this will be the first time for everyone. I have been planning and planning thinking of things to do down there. We will be driving from ohio to WDW with 3 kids DD 5 DS 3 and DS 19 months

We are taking a cruise but will be there for 4 or 5 days before or after. The cruise date is set but not sure exact dates for WDW. Either mid April or late april and into early May.

We are planning an anniversary celebration trip with my parents (their 50th!) and my brother and his family for early April. There will be 11 of us total--which should be fun!

How are some able to book reservations, when according to the website and our travel agent, they aren't available until sometime in August?

I'm glad to have found this thread and am looking forward to all the planning fun ahead!

You can book now at the 2010 rate. When the 2011 rates are released in August, they will adjust your rate.

You can do this for a room only booking, not a package.

Thanks for explaining--I'll have to go check out the rates for the dates we are considering--just to see of course! It's so hard to wait! We haven't decided on a resort yet, likely it will be a moderate, but not sure which one! The queen beds at CSR are tempting, but we've stayed there before. We liked it a lot, but might want to try something different. My parents have stayed at AKL, and would love to stay there again, but we'd have to get some kind of a super pin code for that to happen!! My brother and his family have never been, so it will be all new and exciting for them!

I've booked a SURPRISE trip for both my son and my husband! We're going April 17 - 24 and staying at Wilderness Lodge. Yes, that's the week leading up to Easter on the 24th. I'm out of my skin excited  and hoping I can keep it a secret until December when I tell them!:woohoo:

I booked the room only portion and they guarenteed me the room rate. And when prices are released, I will add the hopper passes and dining plan.

how likely do you all think that some kind of discount will come along for some dates in Aprill? My extended family who will be travelling with us is freaking out about the room only rate we have been quoted for April 3-9 at CBR. They don't want to book yet, they want to wait and see. I want to book and then hopefully be able to apply any discounts that come out. I know there are no guarantees, but just wondered what everyone's thoughts are? When do April deals usually come out? Would you wait until then to make a reservation?:confused3 Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

YAY! Cant wait to book my package!
I am a little curious though about the typical crowd level. We are going 3rd week of April, right before Easter. I know right before Easter is typically bombed, but given Easter being late, how do you all think that will effect the crowds? Spring break isnt that week is it?

;)

We're taking our first family trip to WDW April 2-9, 2011. Fifth trip for me but first since 1998. DH's first trip since 1982, so he's clueless about what to expect. I've been dying to take DDs (7 and 5) for years, but DH worries about the expense and believes they were too young until now. When in-laws offered us a week of their timeshare for DH's birthday this year, we both knew we'd FINALLY be going to the World.

I'm VERY excited about going in April. Our spring break usually falls on Easter week, but it's scheduled for first week in April since the holiday falls so late. We hope this means much lesser crowds than first week in April of 2010. The weather should be awesome--avg. high of 83, avg. low of 60, much less rainfall than in the summer months. Every other time I've been it was in the middle of summer, and I can recall how hot and miserable it was in the afternoons just before the sky opened up and dropped buckets of rain on us.

I'm a commando kind of gal by nature, but having kids has made me slow down and learn to enjoy more relaxing vacations. I just worry that I'll be too excited to kick back relax! I want to see and do EVERYTHING, but I have to keep my expectations realistic.

I want us to ALL have a wonderful time, so that means I have to schedule in plenty of down time for the kids and DH. It also mean that I can't break the bank on this trip. I definitely want DH to love the experience so much that he can't wait to go back. I know the girls and I will feel that way. But if we spend too much (like my sister did on her recent $6,000, 10-day WDW trip), DH will be quite reluctant to return.

So I've been buying bargain souvenirs (esp. T-shirts) online for large arrival gift bags once we get there, and the kids are saving up their allowances to buy all their own souvenirs once we're there. I've done much of my research with library books and online. Bought TGM and UG sites with discount codes (and they've already proven well worth it). Talked to the kids about why we'll stick to drinking water, unless they want to spend their own money to splurge on "fancy drinks."

Hubby's pretty happy about my budget planning thus far. Now we're trying to decide what we'll splurge on. I'm thinking 3-4 TS meals (1 or 2 character meals) during our 8-day trip, and one CS meal each day. The kids can split meals, and hubby and I like grazing and sharing.

I REALLY want both girls to do the BBB before we go to late Princess lunch at Akershus. Hubby thinks it's crazy to spend $100+ on hair and makeup for 7 and 5 YO. May ask a grandparent to spring for that as a Christmas gift.

Akershus will be perfect after a sleep-in morning. I also really want to catch the Fab 5, so we'll probably do Chef Mickey's one night for dinner. Was thinking we'd hit T-Rex, but now I worry that it's too loud and we'll need at least one "peaceful" sit-down meal. Other than Mickey's, I think I want to stick to the park restaurants so we minimize travel time.

We'll eat breakfast in our condo each morning, as none of us eat heavy in the a.m. and I hate to wake up the kids any earlier than necessary. We plan to hit RD 5 days during our trip, so early to bed will be the rule of thumb for us. Most dinners will be in our condo, and I plan to make a few casseroles before we go so I won't have to worry about cooking.

Some CS meals we're planning are Peco's Bill, Flame Tree BBQ and MANY of the Epcot ethnic places. I know that Epcot will be DH's favorite park, so I think we'll spend 3 days there (1 RD for Soarin' and two sleep in/late arrivals). Our girls enjoy entertaining & educational exhibits plus they love making arts and crafts, so I don't think they'll be at all bored at Epcot. Right now we're learning how to say "hello" in all the different languages and we're reading books set in some of the Epcot nations.

I'm also thinking three days at MK (all three RDs, one a 3/4 day and the other two days taking an afternoon break). So one day each at AK and DHS (trying not to buy PH), but we'll be flexible and cut back a day at Epcot or MK (yeah, right) if they'd rather go back to AK or DHS.

No PH and only one day at DHS means we'll miss Fantasmic (unless it's shown more than twice that week), but I think it's for the best. I kept trying to fit in it but kept coming back to "It Just Won't Work." Oh well, next time. We'll also save the water parks for our next trip.

Right now I'm just so eager for the park schedules to come out for April so I can make more definitive plans. I've got my ADR windows marked on my calendar and the phone number on my speed dial!

I think April 2011 will be a great time to visit WDW, and I can hardly wait!

I have never been in April. We went in Feb, and it was beautiful... just a little chilly to swim. When we went in June we were all just miserable. All the kids wanted to do was swim. April sounds just right!
Cant wait to book our package. Gonna do park hopper so I dont have to worry about ADRs. That was just the worst last time. Worrying abuot ADRs and EMHs. Ugh... I figured I would splurge this time lol.
So heres hoping for the rates to be released.. I have my fingers crossed for Sunday!:rolleyes1

Since you're going during spring break and staying off site, I would get the park hoppers. That way if a park is too crowded, you have the option of going to another one.
