Is the popcorn dairy-free?

It was dairy free in the past but I am uncertain if it still is. Come to think of it - I just got the list from Disney, let me see if I can find it and check for popcorn.

I was told it was by many dissers prior to my last trip in Sept. I have almost instant anxiety attacks if I even take a taste of something that is dairy. I ate the popcorn every day if my 12 trip with no issues. I believe if you ask the person selling it that they can provide you with an ingredient list. The last I heard, coconut oil was the base of the "butter" taste.

DD12 has a severe dairy allergy and we were told it was dairy free on our last three August trips. She did not have any issues with it and will react to small amounts of dairy. Ingredient lists do change, so it is always good to double check when you visit.

There is some pre-packaged popcorn sold in the parks. I know in the past people have asked about it so I went to the website and they had different flavors- some dairy free and some not. I can't remember the brand, but if you walk into a shop and there is a bag of flavored popcorn there definitely check it just in case. You probably would anyways, but I didn't want a misunderstanding here to be dangerous. :scared1:

Just to be clear to OP about my post. We only have experience with the popcorn stand popcorn. I believe they used to have Divvies allergen-friendly caramel corn, but not any more.

Yes, the popcorn in the carts all over the parks is dairy free. As others have said, it's coconut based oil.

The brand of packaged popcorn is now Rocky Mountain Popcorn. Here's their allergen statement.
Our Caramel popcorn is made with a non-dairy formulation. The natural butter flavoring is butter-derived, but the dairy proteins have been removed. The product is produced in the same manufacturing facility as our dairy flavors.
We avoid all components of milk, not just casein, so we won't eat this.
